Does anyone else take the same holiday clothes away with them every year?

Last year was my first holiday in years.
I went out and bought dresses /skirts /bikinis /cover ups etc
Used them for a week (as I would never wear the dresses /skirts at home unless it was really hot )
Washed them all and put them in my case
I plan on just taking them again this summer
Does anyone else do this?
I've bought a skirt in sale from £40 to £9 which I love and il probably buy a new cover up but that's it.
My friend is with the impression she will need all new outfits again
What does everyone do ?

Mainly use the same stuff as it doesn’t generally get used in the UK with a couple of new things each time.

Yes (not that I've had a holiday abroad since 2019 Grin) ... I have a few sundresses and shorts that I would never wear at home (unless in the privacy of my own garden on a hot day) that I just keep for holidays.

DoorstoManual · 23/01/2023 08:57

Same stuff mixed with some fresh t shirts, a new bikini and spend the rest on books.

Unicorn2022 · 23/01/2023 08:58

I've got a case full of lovely summer stuff that only ever gets worn on holidays. The only downside is that all my holiday photos look the same!

notacooldad · 23/01/2023 08:59

I dont think I've ever gone out and bought holiday specific clothes.
I just pack what I have. Years ago friends used to do a holiday clothes shop and I remember then, thinking they already had stuff for their holidays ( shorts bikinis, flip flops etc so why buy more)

I have stuff I only use on holiday but that’s a genius idea to store it back in the case, it’s taking up cupboard space, I’m stealing that storage idea!

FlounderingFruitcake · 23/01/2023 09:02

I’ve never done a holiday specific shop. Summer clothes are just summer clothes?! I do always buy swimwear in ski resorts though because I always forget mine and inevitably want to use the hot tub!

FlounderingFruitcake · 23/01/2023 09:04

I do do what you say with the suitcase for skiing stuff though, because I know the chance of wanting snow pants, ski socks, goggles etc. at other times are exactly zero. But it was really hot in the UK last summer so I want my summer dresses out!

Mumski45 · 23/01/2023 09:09

Yes I do this as most holiday clothes don't get much wear in this country and I don't want to buy new every time. I replace the odd thing every year but generally it's the same stuff.

ohbabydontgopleasesstay · 23/01/2023 09:21

That's the only thing my holiday photos will all look the same ha ha
Might have to just take head shots this year

Variable here.
Some stuff is used on hols and in the U.K. Other stuff I’ve learnt isn’t usable abroad.
eg I have a sleeveless summer dress. Perfect for the U.K. to wear with a tshirt. Thought it would be perfect on its own whilst on hols. Wrong. At 40oC, a dress in anything other than cotton or linen isn’t wearable. And my nice dress isn’t cotton….
On the other side, T-shirts etc… are used both at home and on hols abroad.

shiningstar2 · 23/01/2023 09:29

Yes .use same things repeatedly. Some of my sundresses are 10 years old. Still looking good. I buy good quality dresses I really like, knowing I will wear them again and again. Maybe buy one new one if I see something I like, then put one, still in great condition and good label in charity bag. Have done this for years. As others say only problem is same dresses appear again and again in photos so looking back it's hard to gage the holiday year. I go by the place and people in photo with me rather than the clothes. 😁

Candleabra · 23/01/2023 09:30

Pretty much. I know it’s weird but I do have lots of clothes I only wear on holiday. I wouldn’t be seen dead in them at home, but somehow it’s fine abroad!
