Need a jacket for going out

I can't decide what style to go for. I need a jacket for evenings out, usually to see live music at the pub. I walk there, so need to keep me reasonably warm. I'm a size 16 and don't suit short jackets, preferably black. What do you wear or would you wear? I'm on a very tight budget, so will probably look on eBay.

Asda often have some nice cheap coats. Maybe something like this:

I have a grey coat, but it's more smart than pub iykwim. Not a fan of shackets. And bomber jackets make me look fat 😬

If being warm is important and you don’t want to be too smart and you don’t like short jackets, you could get a parka that comes down to the knee. They tend to be a bit oversized hence slimming if worn open.

This isnt cheap but are you wanting along these lines?

I have a Puffer/parka length jacket. Hmm I can't really explain what I want. Sort of like a leather jacket maybe, not so much focus on warmth, I guess, more casual as the coats you've all kindly shared.

I guess the question is, what would you wear to the pub in the evening?

Theres also a couple nice Marks and Spencer ones on eBay in your size, a really nice aviator one which is longer.

Whistles have this which is lovely but possibly too long (and expensive), verylong

I got a lovely faux fur Whistles coat on eBay so maybe worth a search too.

I saw that one on eBay 😊 I quite like it, am thinking on it. The whistles one is a bit too long.

I don't mind real or faux as long as it feels soft and looks realistic.
