I'm having cheek fillers tomorrow- have you had them and what did you think of the results?

Having fillers tomorrow because I have a long face and as I've aged and have even less fullness in my face, people keep thinking I'm secretly a man. Grin And I look old for my age.

I had some fillers in a couple of lines or something a few years ago, but there wasn't much of a result.

Having more this time so hopefully it'll make more of a difference.

Have any of you had them and what did you think of your results?

You look awesome OP, thanks so much for sharing the pics - it's so useful to see before and afters when taking the plunge with something new!

I'm off for my first go at Botox today, eek!

TheDarrellRivers · 04/02/2023 07:34

@squeak52 ooh! Let us know how you get on 😊

batterseaparkfireworks · 04/02/2023 11:11

You look fresher and younger, op. Impressed by your body! I should lose some weight...

krill · 04/02/2023 11:34

I asked for tips from one clinic and they suggest filling out the chin crease- mental crease? I keep sticking my tongue in the bottom of the front of my mouth trying to imagine what it'd look like done lol

I hardly ever see this one offered, but it is done, for a few reasons I think. I can't see from the photos why you'd need it, but if they suggested it they must think so.

watchingpullimgepisode6 · 04/02/2023 17:32

You look geat OP

OldFan · 05/02/2023 10:14

Those photos are really hard to compare as one is no makeup and one with.

@BertaHoon I just have a different shade of lippy on as I didn't like the first shade. No other makeup at all in either the before or after pic. So, same makeup in both except the lip shade- no difference.

You look completely fine and lovely before and after (actually I can't see a difference if I'm honest).

Some people IRL have noticed some sort of improvement. They don't realize I've had fillers, they just remark I look better and think I've done something with my hair (I haven't although obviously some times in the week it's better than others, maybe due to how recently it's washed etc, but I haven't changed my hair routine.)

Looks great. There is definition to your cheeks now and looks completely natural. A p PP said you're wearing makeup in the "after" photo probably said so because your features look more defined. You must be very pleased with the result.

with posey OLD camera angle (but no added filters.)

Are you naked in your garden in February?!

OldFan · 05/02/2023 10:48

@Shakespeareandi Thanks, I'm glad you think so. Smile Smile lines next in a couple of weeks. I probably won't post them for a while until the swelling's gone down, as you can't really tell how it's going to look until then.

@krill If you try sticking your tongue in that bit, the length of the chin maybe does automatically become a bit less longer maybe, you can feel it lifting up. Or maybe that clinic just wanted to do everything. Smile

@batterseaparkfireworks It's all in the camera angle.😂

To the PP who said well done for spending on myself- I didn't end up having children so of course it's a lot easier.

@Whatislove82 No? It was cold enough as it was. Grin

It just doesn’t look like you’re wearing anything!

You look very nice OP. I'm usually very anti fillers but you look brighter and younger. How old are you if I may ask?

But thars the make up surely, no difference in the facial features

krill · 05/02/2023 11:00

The lips are fuller, esp the top lip - lip filler. High up you can see slightly more cheekbone definition. All very subtle.

Blueskies3 · 05/02/2023 11:03

You look gorgeous before and after :) Lovely pics

Vermin · 05/02/2023 11:03

Hi OP - the chin crease can be very easily dealt with by Botox - the same muscle group that gives the crease also curls the sides of the mouth down so overall effect is to make one look less scowly, so I am a fan! My Botox lady is trying to persuade me to get filler at the temples - also thin face and apparently it will lift everything up a bit so face will look fuller/ slight lift to all below. I am tempted but curiously nervous of filler despite having had Botox for years. Gateway drug!

MrsGhandi · 05/02/2023 11:07

I think it looks good and with better use of make up you can improve on this. I would suggest a good concealer and a light foundation or CC cream for your under eye area. Your hair looks lovely and thick too! I love the fringe.

CuriousMama · 05/02/2023 11:14

You look great.

Have you thought of having your hair shorter? Length lengthens the face. Ad some lighter flashes. Maybe caramel? Wish I lived near I'd do it as worked as a hairstylist/colourist for years. Thinking of going back to it?

Loudhousefun · 05/02/2023 11:25

I can see the difference, fullness in the right areas, you look great!

OldFan · 05/02/2023 13:47

@MissMaple82 How often do I have to say- I'm genuinely not wearing and except lippy Smile

Like you said You just look better in the after pictures but without it being obvious what you've had done.
I'm getting my Botox topped up on Thursday and I can't wait. I'm also going ask about the 8 point lift she does.... I'm ready for a bit of filler now but think.

OldFan · 05/02/2023 14:03

In photo 3 posing by a bin I think I have more makeup on as I'm trying to take an OLD pic. But not in the main before or after pics.

@Vermin I had botox about once years ago and then a 'touch up' of that a week after they did it. I've not heard others say it but I felt well rough afterwards in some way, had to spend the evening in bed. I think fillers tend to last longer IDK.

@CuriousMama I try to be gentle with the hair as a couple of years ago it went through a phase of falling out/breaking off, and I had to start pretty much over again. Otherwise I would lighten it and maybe go some sort of auburn IDK. The dark shade at the bottom is Castings so supposed to wash out, but doesn't much.

I think length further down can draw attention away from a long face, I'll maybe do something with it (put in plaits and then undo maybe, to get a bit of a wave?) to take it out to the sides a bit.

@MrsGhandi I do want to try a different concealer as this 'fit me' from maybelline isn't that good. Could you recommend a CC and concealer brand? Something that lasts a while over the day ideally. I'm not really very good with makeup, if I use foundation or whatever it tends to look not very good, it's really obvious I have badly applied stuff on my face and that's all the effect I get from it.

Happygirl79 · 05/02/2023 14:04

I think you would look fantastic if you lightened your hair a couple of shades. It would take years off you. But I don't see that the fillers have made any difference to be honest

OldFan · 05/02/2023 14:12

@Happygirl79 Yep just the poor hair has had issues of falling out etc so I don't want to risk doing much to it. Maybe I'll get a hairdresser to lighten/dye it and then I can take over from there. What sort of colour do you think? (link to something if you like.) I was a blonde for many years until last year, but wanted something more demure and natural looking to attract a good Catholic guy.

I've been trying to go like a mid/lighter brown and a little bit of the lengths have taken it, but not a lot, they've stayed quite dark (my hair is mostly white now naturally.)

OP posts:
Happygirl79 · 05/02/2023 14:18

@OldFan I would suggest a medium blonde shade number 8

Your current shade is too dark and quite ageing

I'm having cheek fillers tomorrow- have you had them and what did you think of the results?
OldFan · 05/02/2023 14:41

@Happygirl79 That's kind of like I used to have it but people said it was aging Smile It's also not what I'm trying to portray right now with the cultural associations of blonde (not that there should be any, but unfortunately there are for the different hair colours.) Obviously people can't help being naturally blonde (I was always jealous of it) and it probably looks natural and wholesome on them. But I'm trying to convey sensible Catholic girl and I'm in a position where I choose the colour. Smile I think that would be a brunette. My friend says the brown looks 'classy' and I'll definitely pull a wholesome guy this way. I am trying to get it a bit lighter though.
