I'm having cheek fillers tomorrow- have you had them and what did you think of the results?

Having fillers tomorrow because I have a long face and as I've aged and have even less fullness in my face, people keep thinking I'm secretly a man. Grin And I look old for my age.

I had some fillers in a couple of lines or something a few years ago, but there wasn't much of a result.

Having more this time so hopefully it'll make more of a difference.

Have any of you had them and what did you think of your results?

Yes can see cheekbones high up now but I can't see what it's done for your lower face possibly because you're slightly smiling.

krill · 03/02/2023 16:29

The lips look improved too!

LancashireSquirrel · 03/02/2023 17:27

I can see a massive difference OP. Love your lippy too!

IheardYouButDontWantToAnswer · 03/02/2023 17:30

Very good, OP. How old are you?

DeeCeeCherry · 03/02/2023 18:39

You look great. Definite improvement and difference. Glorious hair too. According to friends who've had it done, it also improves as time goes on.

Mumsanetta · 03/02/2023 19:00

You look lovely! I can also see a big difference but not in an obvious way, just more youthful.

OldFan · 03/02/2023 20:33

@Sugaspunsista The whole point of the fringe is too make my face look less long. Smile This is a standard tip that's recommended for women with long faces. I have dyspraxia so I can't manage much that's very clever. The fringe also hides my wrinkly forehead.

People don't notice that I've had my cheeks done but they can tell I somehow look better; usually they think I have done something to my hair.

I know that you haven’t asked, but I love the fringe

@TheDarrellRivers Thanks! I've only had it about the last year. It's also something I can maintain myself (just about.) As I don't actually have much money, I just prioritize things.

@Stepuptowardsinfinity I'm mid/late 40s but I've had a hard life maybe. Grin That's why I'm doing this stuff as only much older guys were approaching me on OLD. For me, the rot set in in my late 30s. Hopefully others will catch me up. My figure still tends to be ok.

@Puravida23 £450 but I only spend money on food I shouldn't have- which I still managed to do Grin

@EdiePotts Yep I chucked the other one. Still going to try and find a softer one though. What I have found is having the lips done a bit has somehow made it easier to apply lipstick without the shape looking somehow wrong.

They didn't do anything to my lower face yet except put a small left over bit of filler in the lips. I think having a bit more in the cheeks has balanced out the chin a bit. This will carry on as I get other bits done.

I asked for tips from one clinic and they suggest filling out the chin crease- mental crease? I keep sticking my tongue in the bottom of the front of my mouth trying to imagine what it'd look like done lol

@wtfisgoingonhere21 Hey a Moomin look is very youthful. Smile

@kissthegirlshesnotbehindthedoor Could you possibly find me a pic of the sort of fringe so I could have a look?

That was me! I spotted where you said you'd be having filler in the lower face area in addition.

Though I mentioned lower face as cheek filler can give some improvement in that area. It may have done, I just couldn't tell from the photos.

A definite improvement though, and subtle which is what you want really. Let us know how the rest goes!

A sort of cross between these two? I would add in shorter layers around your face to then curl around and frame the face.

Hi @OldFan love the new look 💃, you look good before too x

Motelschmotel · 03/02/2023 21:49

Well I think you have a great sense of humour, OP! I don’t know anything about fillers etc, frankly the only difference I can see is the makeup! But what do I know. Good luck with OLD 🤞

Slobbet · 03/02/2023 22:08

I like the hair, the lip colour and the cheeks!

Wagsandclaws · 03/02/2023 22:11

I think it's helped a lot, you look really lovely regardless but it's a definite improvement.

Love your attitude and hope you find what you are looking for with OLD thanks for showing us the before and afters.

Fwiw in a huge fan of Botox and fillers, I've had surgery too after losing a lot of weight in my late 40's ( neck went south ) I think of some subtly they can make you look really refreshed ( which I think has happened to you ).

Love the fringe suggestions too, particularly the first photo. Come back and show us again if you take the plunge with your hair!?

OldFan · 03/02/2023 22:17

@kissthegirlshesnotbehindthedoor But one of the best bits is that it hides my furrows. Grin I'm not much of a stylist.

@Motelschmotel The only stuff I have on is a bit of lippy but different ones. Got more stuff coming tomorrow.

OldFan · 03/02/2023 22:19

@Wagsandclaws Yep if I ever come into some money I'd deffo have a face lift. How was your recovery from surgery?

OP posts:
Wagsandclaws · 03/02/2023 22:46

Pretty quick actually. I had it done under local.

My daughter drove me from Somerset where we live to Kent where the clinic is, she drove me home on the same day after the op and it was painful really only the first couple of days.

I'd say for me it's made a massive difference to my confidence.

OldFan · 04/02/2023 00:17

@Wagsandclaws Ooh impressive. I had quite a lot of bruising even just after the fillers. Was it a face lift you had? I didn't realize they did it under local. Think I would freak out too much lol

OP posts:
Wagsandclaws · 04/02/2023 00:18

Lower face and neck lift - I'll look for some before and afters - I'm 51 and I wouldn't have had it down most likely it was the weight loss - everything went south!

TheDarrellRivers · 04/02/2023 03:30

@OldFan good for you for managing your money so that you can spend some on yourself 😊

BertaHoon · 04/02/2023 03:39

Those photos are really hard to compare as one is no makeup and one with.

Do you feel it was worth it? If so, brilliant and good for you. I can't see much difference though (sorry).

Vegetablesupreme · 04/02/2023 04:12

I'm so impressed with the results OP.
As you say, it's not obvious that you have had fillers. Just that you look really good.
You definitely look more youthful in the after pic.
By the way, I also have a fringe to hide the wrinkles!!

lowclouds · 04/02/2023 04:22

OldFan · 23/01/2023 23:45

@talkingmorenonsense You haven't seen the state it was in. 😂

Having seen your pics I really can't understand this comment.

You look completely fine and lovely before and after (actually I can't see a difference if I'm honest).

I'd never mess with my face, the nerves in the face are so fragile and sensitive.

I have a friend who fell off a chair and has damaged her face irreperably from a slight bump to the cheek.

Not worth it, there is no one I would trust to do this to me.
