Best value retinol product - daily routine

I wondered if anyone can cast an eye over my skin routine and recommend a good value retinol product please.

I’ve heard good things about the Superdrug optimum range and interested to see if anyone has thoughts on this or a similar priced product.

For the past year or so, I have been using superdrug hot cloth cleanser, Elemis toner, a hyaluronic drop and a vitamin c serum in the morning followed by a day moisturiser and 50spf sunscreen.

I’m the evening, I’ve then been using Elemis cleansing balm, pixie glow toner, a retinol serum, currently The Ordinary 1%, followed by night moisturiser and my skin looks the best it has for years.

I’ve usually tended to use serum and moisturiser products I’ve received in advent calendars or beauty boxes, rather than choose them and have decided to limit my purchases this year to tailored products that work.

Does anyone have a recommendations please?

Sounds like the routine you have is working for you, so why change?

Depending on age you might want to add a peptide into your routine, but you don't have to!

I love the ordinary 2% granactive emulsion retinol. Probably about the same price as yours.

@catmg thanks for your suggestion - where would I be best to add a peptide in my routine?

Sorry forgot to add I’m 50 this year.

@Fuckstix I’ve been looking at this for when my current The Ordinary 1% runs out - I’ve now added this to my shortlist thank you.

Depends on whether your serums are oil or water based. Waters go before oils in any routine.

I use my peptide between the hyaluronic and the vitamin c in the morning. And before the retinol in the evening, but waiting for the peptides to fully absorb before applying the retinol.
