Best heavy/rich moisturiser

My skin is so dry and tight in this weather so I need something other than my usual stuff. I use rosehip oil in the evening (which doesn't feel like it's moisturising enough) and an aromatherapy cream during the day, which is quite light.
Any recommendations on something really heavy and rich? Don't want to spend a fortune either.

weleda skin food.
nivea in the blue pot.

both don't have spf though.

Nivea creme in the blue tub, I've been using it for years and years, very moisturising and sinks straight in leaving no greasey residue.

Happycow · 20/01/2023 06:46

Try marks and spencer Formula Absolute night cream (purple pot, only online). I love it - and have been known to use it as a day cream when my skin is dry. It absorbs well. Havent tried the day cream so cant vouch for that!

Another vote for blue Nivea. Over the top of a layer of rosehip oil, it's super lush.

mincepiesandsomemorr · 20/01/2023 06:48

Nivea blue tub is my winter cream. Tried others but always return to this

Had this issue also, Palmers Cocoa butter solved everything 🙌

Mustela Emollient Bam is out of this world. It is very rich in sunflower and avocado oil, no perfume or nasties. It was designed for babies, but I’ve been using it on my face for years. It’s the only cream that makes my skin feel hydrated and nourished. I use argan oil or prickly pear oil underneath. I’ve tried Nivea and Palmers and wouldn’t go back.

Nivea blue pot. It's a bit thick to start with but melts quickly in my face and then easy to apply all over. It's been around years for a reason

I use Sunday Riley’s ice ceramide moisturiser. A beautiful texture and leaves my dry skin super soft by morning.

Hyaluronic acid supplements

I have a pot of creme de la mer. I was bought it as a present. I honestly think it's no better than the blue Nivea. Blue Nivea is amazing.

Elvira2000 · 20/01/2023 19:21

weleda skin food
nivea in the blue pot

I use to love and use the nivea. Then discovered the skin food and now think nivea is too light!

Both amazing for your skin. Apparently it is real greasiness that is the best anti aging thing (I know you didn't ask about that). But the big beauty companies know that most consumers don't like the feel. (I watched a highly scientific trail/experiment about skin treatments and nivea blue tub beat everything)

Neals yard wild rose beauty balm is wonderful . I use it as night cream on my v sensitive skin and it feels lovely

yousmellnice · 20/01/2023 20:11

Avene rich.

Iwritethissittinginthekitchensink · 20/01/2023 20:14

Clarins night cream (blue pot) - very smooth and creamy and feels lovely

AnneShirleysNewDress · 20/01/2023 20:16

Aroma Active rich repair cream

6poundshower · 20/01/2023 20:17

I got the Sunday riley vitamin c in an advent calendar, it's fab and fits this description, except perhaps the price.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 20/01/2023 20:17

Weleda skin food is the richest skin cream I've found

piliomachaon · 20/01/2023 20:20

I swear by Weleda Skin Food. Along with hyaluronic and Azelaic acid. I use a separate spf for daytime.
