My hands look older than my age.

Please give me your best solutions.

My hands have looked old since I was at primary school. I think its because they aren't very fleshy. Not a big help i know. Just some solidarity.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 17/01/2023 18:55

You could get skin boosters injected, there’s one called Profhilo. You could also put SPF on every day to help prevent more signs of aging.

GettingStuffed · 17/01/2023 19:17

Hand cream mine don't look as old if I use hand cream regularly. You can get ones with sunscreen too.

AnuSTart · 17/01/2023 19:18

I an sending a message of support. I have the hands of an 80 year old in my 40s and it's depressing. I get married next month and I keep imagining the ring going on......grim.

Red light mask used on hands.

My3cents1 · 17/01/2023 19:30

Tretinoin and sun screen. Over time it will smooth the skin, fade sun and age damage and make them super soft.

What is a red light mask?

LED therapy masks. They are meant for use on your face, neck and décolleté but inise mine on my hands also.

Leemoe · 17/01/2023 23:31

Also driving gloves from March to october

beepbeepme · 17/01/2023 23:33

@Leemoe thanks I'll check them out

echt · 17/01/2023 23:33

Frequent hand cream and sunscreen 50.

PAFMO · 18/01/2023 06:11

Best handcream is Neutrogena Norwegian.
Not sexy, not perfumed, one application will last for days. Tiny tube at £4 has 300 doses. It's magic.

When I have a facial therapist will do a peel treatment on back of my hands as well - makes a huge difference.

littlelid · 18/01/2023 06:49

Gloves in winter/spring/autumn. SPF in summer/if no gloves. O keefes working hands over night cream with cotton gloves at night

CinnamonJellyBeans · 18/01/2023 07:43

Any younger readers: If you push a pram for several hours a day, your hands are receiving direct sunlight. Use SPF on hands. Keep a bottle of cheap factor 30 by the front door.

JustJamie5 · 18/01/2023 07:52

You’re not alone…. I’m following your post. Mine have had arthritis since I was 26 plus generally look old ☹️

Frrrout · 19/01/2023 21:15

I HAVE FOUND MY PEOPLE
Mine are huge, wrinkly, the skin honestly looks like a riverbed when it’s dried out under the scorching sun. I actually dont think I’ve ever seen a woman with worse hands then mine.
No help OP but what is this Tretoin that has been mentioned?

SleekMamma · 19/01/2023 22:07

Yep a small travel bottle of SPF50 in your handbag from when the daffodils come up, to Halloween. Put on the backs of your hands upon leaving the house & after washing hands.
Never too late to start!

I'm going to start using my led face mask on my hands too.

The only hand cream that really helps me is an Arket one in a metal tube.

DutchTeenyPixie · 20/01/2023 21:02

Thanks for all the recommendations. I am also in the same boat with aging hands.

One tip is that I always make sure I have a great nail design! It diverts the eyes and makes me much less self-conscious.
