Has anyone tried the Merwave wavy hair kit? Would love to hear your thoughts if so! Marketing looks great and fits my hair type... but I've made many expensive product mistakes before!

I've just been looking at this. £60 though! Very expensive.

Also interested in this. I feel like their advert is designed for me / my hair type but would love some real people reviews before buying!

I've tried it, it does work well but it's so expensive to keep using especially as the shampoo and conditioner run out quickly (I know they do sell larger bottles now).

Personally I found I did not need a lot of #3 at all so that would be the slowest to be used up.

Overall I think it is probably possible to get the same effect with other curly/wavy products at a cheaper price, but might spend quite a lot of time and money identifying those products in the first place!

Overall I did like it and would use it again, but I'd only buy with an offer and I'd make sure I got a lot of the conditioner in particular as it runs out fast.

This is with a few days of use, air dryed. It did give quite nice clumping.

Just used it. It's really surprised me!

DonttouchthatLarry · 12/06/2024 22:38

I use the shampoo and conditioner but don't really bother with the rest of it - they make my hair look so much better! I bought the large bottles on offer and they will last me ages as I only need to wash my hair 2/3 times a week now instead of every day as it doesn't look greasy.

MadameMassiveSalad · 13/06/2024 16:38

I only used a teeny bit of number 3 and I was so surprised how curly it went!

MadameMassiveSalad · 13/06/2024 19:51

I don't understand how it works?!

AlitheAllosaurus · 13/06/2024 19:55

I’ve pretty much tried it all, but I really rate this, it actually makes a real difference to my hair. Well formed curls, less frizz and I actually find it lasts pretty well as despite having long, thick, curly hair I don’t need much of the products. I can really tell when I’ve not used it. I’ve found it more effective than only curls, Umberto Gianini etc. I don’t work for them 😂 just pleased to found a product that suits my hair!

MadameMassiveSalad · 14/06/2024 06:56

I'm just so confused by how it puts curls into my hair 😆

Feels nice too. Well like I said I only used a tiny bit of number 3. Will experiment with the cast today.

SirWalterElliot · 14/06/2024 06:59

You could experiment with some of the cheaper wave/curl products eg Cantu, Umberto Giannini Only Curls and then see if they work/if you want to try Merwave. For me, I find curl cream and mousse (and a diffuser) are the important products.

I noticed my hair went fab by the beach, so I popped salt and water in a squirt bottle. I now use some argon oil, and a spritz of salty water and it goes really nice!

Sorry, being thick; you mean you just did this? You didn't use the merwave products? I have a bottle of salt water beach hair stuff somewhere...

chimneystack · 15/06/2024 23:15

Tried it, made my hair greasy, passed it to DD who loves it so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cleansheetsandacuppa · 16/06/2024 21:49

Hi stasis mom. Yes, that’s it. Dissolve salt, in water, you can add scent. I bought some beach hair stuff and it’s aqua with sodium chloride. So. spritz on hair, tickle some argon oil on. Great curls! Job done.

BlossomToLeaves · 16/06/2024 22:03

I tried it, didn't work for me at all. But then my hair used to be quite curly; tried some treatments to smooth it a while ago, should have grown out by now but texture isn't the same. So I thought this would be good as my hair was that inbetween straight/wavy look like in all their pictures. But it just got big and frizzy and horrible looking. I've tried endless of these wavy/curly products and systems, to no avail.

Hope it works! Maybe a bit of mousse as well.
