Skin & Me for acne

Has anyone used Skin & Me for acne and if so, did it work and how long before you saw results?

I am 2 weeks in and so far so good - skin feels very soft and no new spots have appeared (which is a miracle for me) but my old acne scars aren't fading as fast as I thought they would. I know I am being impatient but just wondered how long it took for all the red marks to disappear.

I haven’t but am thinking about it! I used Dermatica (another subscription service) for Rosacea for a few months which has helped but seems to have plateaued (but could be the time of year).

After about four months my skin started to look good and even. Very rarely do I now get a spot. I stopped treatment for a week in October on a sunny holiday and did get a few. I'm still hoping it will fade my age spot which hasn't happened yet at month seven

4 months?? I was hoping for an improvement a bit quicker than that 😬 I know I should be grateful that my acne seems to have stopped but I really want to not have to wear make up sooner rather than later!

Unfortunately however good whatever you use is you won't see significant or best results until several months have passed, skin cell turnover takes time and ingredients such as tretinoin do speed it up but you would still expect 4-6 months to achieve significant visible changes in the skin.

I'd also manage your expectations a bit, going from having acne perfectly clear skin and going makeup free is quite a journey. If there is sustained scarring or scarring then it's unlikely that will disappear completely without more intervention than something you put on the skin can offer. I suppose it all depends at what point you'd be happy to go without makeup really.

What ingredients are in your doser? Azaleic acid and Niacinamide are really good for fading marks from spots (I've found) and the dose of that can always be upped if it's currently low.

I really rate Skin & Me and haven't ever found anything that works as well as it has for clearing my skin and evening it out. Like you I saw some changes quite quickly and i'd say at about the 4 or 5 month point I felt the happiest with my skin I've been in years. It is relative though. I've been using it at least a year now and my skin certainly isn't perfect, I still get occasional spots or the odd big one but am just grateful to no longer have moderate acne and they do clear up much quicker than they would have without it. Topical applications can only do so much and as I suspect my acne is hormonal, an improvement is enough for me.

Thank you, that is really helpful to know. My doser has clindamycin, azelaic acid and tretinoin in it - same for 3 months and then the clindamycin is swapped for niacinamide at 4 months.

I only really wear make up for work but always feel a bit 'caked on' so want to move to a tinted moisturiser rather than full on foundation/concealer/powder.

I will be patient 🙂

About 6 months in I stopped getting those horrid big hormonal jawline spots. About 18 months in I’ve stopped getting any hormonal spots anywhere. Could be a coincidence though. My skin is less oily and my pigmentation has definitely faded. I’m pleased but it’s been a long haul for me.
