What to wear to celebration of life?

I have been invited to a celebration of life and I have never been to one before so I am unsure what to wear. The family have made it clear that the deceased did not want a funeral so wearing normal funeral attire is out. However the family haven’t mentioned wearing a specific colour or anything either.

The cremation will take place separately to this event and it’s not for a few more weeks yet so I have time to get something, and in the grand scheme of things it probably doesn’t matter what I wear. But if you have been to a celebration of life before, what kind of things did attendees wear? Thanks in advance.

I did go to one a few years back but I think they can vary from near enough a funeral to a party with music and dancing.

I didn't know what to wear either so pitched for 'business dinner' - muted coloured smarter dress, wedge slingbacks, fine cardigan, small jewelry. I took a more statement necklace and belt in my car in case it was more party but I felt correctly dressed.

Since it’s a celebration, not commemoration, I’d dress nicely and cheerfully. I think colour (not muted unless that’s your wardrobe), as if you were going to any other celebration.

i agree with @IveForgottenAgainFFS
personally navy is a safe bet the idea of having a few other pieces in the car just in case is great!
