Coat & Jacket suggestions

Hi all, having put on weight despite always being big, i have been smaller than this, various reasons as to why i have put on extra weight.
Anyhow I have been trying to find a new winter coat like an every day one. The last ones I've had are goose down type but with the right stitching/style on the outside so as to look a bit more slimming.
What I am struggling with is finding a brand or make that is the right cut and fit, because things seem to come up quite differently.
Plus I am holding off ordering which I would have to do online because I can not believe that I have tried size 22 coats/jackets and they have been too tight on the bust. So I am looking at having to consider size 24 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ never been this size before. I know in the long run i need to lose weight, but for the time being I need a new coat or two so I can keep one for more occasion wear, as I have only one that is good for cold weather at the moment.

Any suggestions or purchases that you've made that you are happy with, I would love to hear from you. 😊

What about a plaid poncho over a thin 'puffa'

I don't know what size they go up to but I bought a superdry coat in the end. I have a small frame so the size of coat I needed to zip over my hips bum and tum balloooooooooned around my shoulders and chest. I have lost a bit now but yeh, it made buying a coat more challenging than I thought.

I'd be interested to hear any recommendations for winter coats too - I need a new everyday coat, but not sure what would suit me and can't find anything so far. I'm quite short and have big boobs which can make it tricky.

If you are smaller in the waist, what about a belted coat or something that tapers in, like these:
RI
Craghoppers

Or like you mentioned about the stitching, these look like it might do that:
Wallis
Snowdonia

Thankyou to those who have responded so far, I know it isn't the most interesting post lol. I am looking at a few options from what was suggested.
What i'm struggling with is the realisation of the weight gain, and that by having to wear the next size up in clothing, I feel like I have just then grown mindfully in to the next size 🤦‍♀️ And that because if i go by bust measurements etc in terms of picking a size for an item, I need it bigger just in parts, which means the rest is then big in other parts 🤦‍♀️
