Compliments, given or received?

What compliments have you been given or given today or recently?

I was just complemented on my charity shop bought jumper saying that it was a good buy after asking if it was hand knitted or if I’d knitted it myself. The charity shop I bought it from thought it was hand knitted too.

Teenage son told me I looked gorgeous this morning. I was sat on the sofa in my depressing gown as I’m recovering from either flu or covid. Proper taking the piss but I’ll take it.

I always make a point of complimenting people if I see something I like- friends, family & strangers!
I feel very lucky because my dh regularly compliments me & always notices what I wear & which perfume I wear etc. There's no way i could sneak new purchases past him (not that I want to) because hed notice it!

I’ll alway compliment people. Over had the following:

Two men commented on how lovely and well my skin looked. I’m sure it’s because I had tinted moisturizer on.

Lady in Waterstones commented on my earrings.

I have a very beautiful coat - several people commented on how pretty it was.

Someone complimented my rings today. I wear quite a few so they're very obvious.

I always compliment people. I have a customer facing job so I see a lot of nice clothes/ jewellery/ make up etc. Today it was telling a woman how lovely her perfume was ( Baccarat Rouge, she was delighted and told me excitedly how expensive it was Grin) Yesterday told a younger woman how great her ( Lucy and Yak as it turns out) trousers were.

I like to pay compliments. Everyone wins.

I'm really good at complimenting people and will always tell someone if I think they're looking good etc
I tell my teen ds when he looks or smells good and it's always greeted with a little smile!

I'm the 'skinny' friend and I asked once why I get zero compliments when me and my 3 friends are dressed up to go out. Apparently I don't need them 😳 I put them all right immediately!!!!

My jumper got another compliment and the person thought it was a hand knitted affair!

Compliments are lovely, real mood boosters, I like to give them, in a genuine way, when I can. I was in town recently and a woman walked past and said 'I love your hair!' I didn't want to assume it was directed at me as there was a woman alongside me, but we laughed and I complimented her lovely green coat, so a win-win!
