Can I just give a bit of a shout out to Yours Clothing

No I don’t work for them, been here for 15 years etc etc

I’m a size 20, problem area is belly. A surprise event was sprung upon me at Christmas for this coming weekend that required a cocktail dress with an element of fancy dress attached 😩. I googled plus size cocktail dresses, came across Yours Clothing and ordered about 10. Super cheap and I was expecting them all to be awful but hoped one would be acceptable at least.

Anyway….. they ALL fitted and I could have work any one of them without embarrassment. They were all very comfortable and all flattering to a greater or lesser degree, they were all a good length, all nicely lined, reasonable fabrics and none of them were ridiculously cut. They were all also extremely cheap!

Ended up keeping 2! One for the event and one for summer as actually it was quite casual.

Anyway just a recommendation if you’re in the market for some plus size clothing and find it difficult to find comfy, reasonably flattering things.

I keep looking at Yours but haven't ordered anything, will give it a go now, thanks!

I love Yours. Some of it is a bit hit and miss but when you do get something nice it’s amazing. I particularly love their nightwear - pjs and dressing gowns. I’m a 20 and I get them in a 26 as I love them baggy and they’re just brilliant and so comfortable.

Lavendersquare · 05/01/2023 16:38

Loads of really well priced Yours new and nearly new clothing on Vinted. Definitely worth checking it out.

whoruntheworldgirls · 05/01/2023 16:43

I get a lot of Yours dresses from Vinted, they are true to size i find and fit lovely

Bananaman123 · 05/01/2023 18:54

Like them too but can be a bit too pricey for what you get, sizing and fit good though

DottyGrey · 05/01/2023 21:43

I love Yours, you can find some stylish things (and plenty less so!) but unlike most curvy ranges they actually seem to be designed for a bigger body. I loved the length of the tops when I was at my largest due to a low hanging tummy, I've lost a bit of weight and find them too long now though, would love different length top options as I still prefer a longer top than most shops seel but not a tunic.

Roominmyhouse · 05/01/2023 21:47

I’ve bought a couple of dresses from them, I’m a size 16. They really do fit well and I thought they were pretty reasonably priced.

MajorCarolDanvers · 05/01/2023 22:02

I still remember the first time I went in that shop. First time I'd enjoyed clothes shopping in more than a decade.

Love - Love Yours.

I spoke to a person who worked there and they said it's because the clothes are designed plus size.

Other shops design for size 8 and then just make bigger versions and that's why they don't fit or suit plus women.

I do exactly the same with nightwear, I like nothing constricting when I'm in bed !

They're T shirts in the summer are a great length too, far too many are too short in so many shops.

I tend to go for their basic stuff as some of their tops are a bit too floral and that doesn't suit me but I buy quite a bit from them.

QueenOfHiraeth · 05/01/2023 22:11

I like Yours too. Their stuff fits plus size women better than most other shops than do bigger sizes as an add-on although a lot of it is too young for me.
Still miss Ann Harvey though, that was plus size Alexon so was classic and better quality that lasted. Now I am old I really miss that!

IncessantNameChanger · 05/01/2023 22:14

I have ordered things from them and worn them to Royal Ascot

MrsMoastyToasty · 05/01/2023 22:24

I find them a bit hit and miss.
Cons - lots of artificial fibres, not much for a shortarse, lots of black (at least in my local store), not enough different necklines, not much smart/formal wear.
Pros - cotton nightshirts that cover beyond mid thigh, leggings that don't cut your blood supply at the ankle and are higher in the waist, cotton cycling shorts (I wear them to prevent chub rub), .

Deathraystare · 06/01/2023 10:19

Yes I have ordered quite a bit from them and Roman in the past.

CocoPopoPops · 06/01/2023 20:01

Seriously?! Yours is Polyester galore and outdated. At size 20 you could wear natural fibres from better shops, Seasalt, M&S, H&M, Karen Millen, Monsoon....

I’m a size 20 and find H and M terrible for plus size stuff

For at least twice the price….

Xrays · 06/01/2023 20:10

(Well maybe not h and m but the others).

FlamingoSocks · 07/01/2023 00:14

Well it wasn’t like I was completely naked until I found this cocktail dress. I do have lots of other clothes in various fabrics from lots of different places. I am aware of the other shops. It’s just specifically for what I was looking for, I was pleasantly surprised, and I look nice. Just wanted to share in case anyone in same boat!

Perhaps the fact they are a bit stretchy is a bonus if you need larger sizes. I'm a size 18 and buy clothes from all over, however there's nothing worse than feeling trapped in a non forgiving natural fibre outfit, give me 10% Lycra and the ability to breathe any day.

FredaFox · 09/01/2023 11:05

I'm a 22 and occasionally walk in Yours and always walk straight out, the quality is terrible, items are shapeless, and as another pp said the material is all cheap polyester which I don't find flattering. I need a good shape and better quality fabric that hangs better

Online they appear to have done better quality stuff

On a day to day I tend to be M&S, river island, new look
