What to wear to yoga after a long time away

Help! I'm going to start yoga (and form of exercise) for the first time in 8 years! I'm 2 dress sizes bigger than I used to be (now a 16 bottom) and the thought of getting into a pair of leggings is really upsetting me, to the point of not going, which I know is stupid 😢. Can anyone point me in the direction of what to wear, nothing too hot either please.
TIA

M&S yoga pants

I wear these to yoga, in the same position as you. They’re fitted and flattering, but not tight leggings that make me feel self conscious

Yoga pants from sweaty Betty or even joggers if you feel that self conscious.
But, please, don’t worry- yoga is for all shapes and sizes and I can pretty much guarantee nobody will be looking at you.

My yoga class is a mixture of leggings and pyjama style loose trousers. Most women, of all sizes, at the gym wear leggings.

Black top and bottoms always help me feel sleeker. I'm a 16-18 and have been doing yoga for five years. Agree that yoga is for everybody and every body.

Get a top that isn't loose or it will end up over your head in your down dogs.

Feel the fear and do it anyway! I cannot stand anything tight. Wear baggy yoga pants from Lululemon, and cotton hippy tops with a singlet underneath.

we are the motley crew at my studio, I love it. And ALL shapes and sizes

I've never worn leggings as they make my skin crawl! I wear 3/4 length loose fitting soft trousers with a fold over waist band (I linked them on another thread recently, but the pair I currently have are a bargain £12.99 from Decathlon). If those aren't available (in the wash!), I have a full length pair of cuffed soft hareem trousers. I sometimes wear tight-fitting tops, but I prefer loose with an elasticated waist to stop it disappearing over my head, or tight fitting with something a bit looser on top if it's chillier.

Other people wear a mix of leggings, loose fitting, and short-shorts IME.

I wear capri length leggings or running shorts and a long, bum covering stretchy T shirt from BAM.

I'm a size 16, have been for years, it's fine.

Here is a website that reviews yoga clothing and there are a couple of reviews on loose yoga pants. The Gary pants from Sweaty Betty and also a pair from Decathlon Yoga Clothing Reviews UK:)
