I’m transitioning to grey hair and had a short hair cut - my glasses don’t match and are boring - I want to choose new glasses but also want to experiment with coloured contact lenses - for fun and ti create a more interesting / jovial look.

@simplefree coloured contacts can be fun, realistic or very jarring and fake looking. Subtle colour change is still worth it ie your eyes are brown and you buy brown contacts because even though the colour is similar to your natural eyes the diameter is likely to be bigger giving the impact of wide open or bigger eyes. I'm not talking silly dolly diameters but just a few mms bigger than your own eyes can make a difference. There are 3 brands that I like; Freshlook 3 colour blend monthly, Feel Good Contacts disposables and Acuvue Colours.
Choose a colour that compliments your skin tone and look at celebrities that have similar colouring to you with different eye colours. Some brands will fit your eyes better than others and some brands just won't be comfortable. They have different levels of moisture and if your eyes tend to be dry that can also play a role in how comfortable you find contact lenses. I recommend buying from feelgoodcontacts.com as their prices are good and delivery speedy.

Go natural initially is my advice if you want a natural look otherwise eyes can look like Zombie's, not ideal if it's not Halloween!

I have blue eyes and tried my mate's brown lenses to see what I'd look like with brown eyes.

I couldn't get them out quick enough as it turns out I'm the image of my brown-eyes brothers which was hugely unsettling.

Coloured lenses are a great way to change your look @simplefree but if you’re not sure which colour to go for, I think blue, green or hazel would look especially lovely with your grey hair😊

Come on. Nobody would write that naturally with the repetition of coloured lenses like that. Looks like if it's written by a human it's website text that is SEO optimised or something.

When I went grey, I felt like everything needed a little refresh. I chopped my hair short too and ended up getting some bold, round frames that made a huge difference. I also started playing with cosplay lenses just for fun, not full-on cosplay, but the subtle violet ones really gave my look a lift. Got a few compliments at the farmer’s market, which felt nice.
