Converse High Tops - normal sole or flatform/lift?

In an effort to wean myself off my trusty Stan Smiths I’m toying with the idea of a pair of black high top Converse. Will I regret buying the lift/flatform version? I like the idea of a bit of extra height, but worried they’ll be passé before I know it and I’ll look like I’m trying too hard (I’m 45….). I’m hoping they’ll go with a pair of new barrel leg jeans. What say you oh stylish ones?

The normal ones have very thin soles, I gave up on wearing converse years ago for that reason - they’re not very comfortable if you do a lot of walking. I may be tempted back by the flat form ones!

@justabigdisco Good point! I’d forgotten how cold the thin soles can get too. Maybe the flatform ones will be more practical after all!

I’ve got the flat form. They’re comfy, but I did size up as I have a bunion. I’m 5 ft 2

Converse are so flat and really not good for your feet, they have much less support than Stan Smiths.

DD1 has rainbow flatform soled ones. She can't wear them as they're agony on her feet. Very much style over function as far as she's concerned.
