Electric toothbrush

Any recommendations please?

My dental hygienist recommends the Oral-B iO4 as the best on the market at the moment. There are higher spec models if you want it to Bluetooth to your phone and monitor your brushing technique but, unless you specifically want those bells and whistles, the basic model does everything you need it to.

I prefer a good sonicare as I've tried expensive ones of them and Oral B and sonicare cleans my teeth better.

Id rather it was cheap but good so happy for basic models.

We all have oral B ones from boots in the sale - the year before last
They are all good and not too expensive

For a more cost effective option to oral b io. I recommend the oral b pro 3. (The cheaper oral b toothbrushes don't have a lithium battery so don't tend to perform as well so aim for pro 3 or above) .

@RandomMess the new iO combines the sonic effect of the Sonicare with the rotating brush of the Oral-B so, in theory, you get the best of both worlds.

Sorry not a recommendation, just wanted to say I got my first electric toothbrush for Christmas (oral B) and it’s fab. My teeth feel soooo much cleaner, I am definitely a convert! Don’t know what took me so long.

Have a look on YouTube there a company on there that reviews all the various models. I was going to upgrade to iO, in the end I bought the oral b 3500pro, about £45.

My oral b 3000 just died yesterday and I replaced it with a io4.

Much cleaner feel from the iO but I was hoping it would tell you how well you had cleaned each tooth but the io4 doesn't do this only the IO 7 and above. I paid £85 in boots and "earned" £10 in points and had a £25 voucher from Xmas.

I have lots of dental problems so it was work it. Definitely feeling it in the gums today!

I've used both the Oral B one and the Philips sonicare ones and I have to say the Philips is far better. My dds dentist recommended them to her and she bought herself one and me one for my birthday.

Sonicare by a mile. My OH needed a new one and went for the Oral B iO because it supposedly was the best of both worlds, and he can't wait for it to die so he can justify getting another sonicare!

@StuntNun that's interesting but I use the teeny tiny head's available for sonicare - when my toothbrush next dies I shall look at this one!

Wow, my shiny new electric toothbrush is only a bog standard oral B and my teeth feel clean as a new pin. But it seems a sonicare cleans even better? I’ll end up with fabulous blinding white gnashers like a movie star, and breathe like a springtime breeze, lovely. (Although it’s now making me slightly paranoid that under my old regime I must’ve been wandering around with skanky teeth and manky breath since there has been so much room for improvement!)
