Wondering if anyone can recommend a nice bag that I can use when we go on holiday? Not for clothes etc but as a bag that can hold all of the stuff you need, passports, snacks, medicine, kindle etc.. I'd quite like a nice one that last going to last.

Thanks!

Hand luggage! That's the word that was completely escaping my tired brain!

I bought a cabinzero for a gift and it's really great. It's a back pack that opens full like a case. I frequently borrow it!

Husband had a frequent flyer backpack from Mountain Hardware that's also good. Lots of little pockets and decent size.

Jewelanemone · 29/12/2022 22:08

Ooh I've just bought a pouch from Elizabeth Scarlett for just this purpose! They're in the sale now, in two sizes.

They're so beautiful. I've bought one for my mum too 🙂

I use a Fjällräven Kånken. It is exactly the right size to go under the seat in front, and very light (so I get the most possible out of my weight allowance!)

ContadoraExplorer · 29/12/2022 22:16

I bought a Cabin Max Metz to replace a rucksack that I used to use that broke. It's not pretty but its the exact measurements for Easyjet cabin baggage(for putting under seat) and holds a lot of stuff with easy access pocket at the front for passports etc. and clips as well as zips so you can tighten it up once packed and it squeezes it in a bit more. Would happily recommend.

itsnotmeitsu · 29/12/2022 22:37

I have a few Desigual bags that are a good size and have so many pockets that I forget where I've stored stuff. They're also wipe-clean, which can be useful when flying.

My sister just bought a lovely bag from www.tripp.co.uk/ ready for her next holiday and it is just the right size for the plane. There are a lot on offer too at the moment.

Ooh that sounds excellent - thanks!

Get a cabin bag that slides over the handle of your suitcase then fits under the seat. I wouldn't be without mine. Can't remember the brand but you're probably best off getting a sale bargain; just choose a reputable make.

uggmum · 01/01/2023 21:20

I use a longchamps bag. Le pilage.
I fit everything in that I need.

It's a good classic

HundredMilesAnHour · 01/01/2023 21:46

I use a Smythson leather backpack. It looks great and is also really handy when I'm out walking / cycling and need my hands free. Not cheap though, definitely more of an investment purchase.

ImHavingAnOldFriendForDinner · 01/01/2023 22:00

Thanks everyone for the recommendations, I've just ordered a Tripp one and dh has bought himself a Cabin Max Metz!

Ah, yes, mine is Tripp - good choice!

NeedWineNow · 02/01/2023 09:58

Came on to say I have ordered a lovely bag from Tripp thanks to posters on this thread. I wanted a bag which was a bit more structured than my beloved Le Pliage and found one at a great price even with the postage. Even better is that it's got a trolley sleeve so will go over a suitcase handle rather than lugging my packed tote on my shoulder.

gogohmm · 02/01/2023 10:23

I have a leather bag that's like an old doctors bag and clips onto my main case's trolley. Swishy, Fits under the seat if not full

Sounds great and given they have lots of offers on atm, which fits best under the Easyjet seats please?
Planning ahead as we've not been anywhere for 8 years due to lack of insurance/ ill health.

Le pliage Longchamps bag

NeedWineNow · 02/01/2023 13:30

@askmenow I've gone for this one, but they have it in a smaller size which might be more suitable for you?

Longchamp pilage. Saves bringing another day bag to use during the trip too.

Thank you sooo much

@askmenow

Sorry, I was on my tablet and sometimes that happens if I try and post a link.

This should work, hopefully www.tripp.co.uk/tripp-blue-white-lily-large-holdall/p3733

NeedWineNow · 02/01/2023 14:55

@askmenow

It's done it again - how annoying.

If you go onto www.Tripp.co.uk it is this one Tripp Blue/White 'Lily' Large Holdall. It is on offer for £12.50 at the moment. The smaller version is this - Tripp Blue/White 'Lily' Holdall - and is £10.50.

wherestheweightlosspill · 02/01/2023 16:48

I have this, which comes with all sorts including matching clutch bag and clear toiletries bag for security. Slips over suitcase handles and has an easily accessible pocket for passports etc as well as bottle holder. I've travelled long haul with it and it's great.

QuizzlyBears · 02/01/2023 18:07

I have a Tripp one that does exactly this! It matches a cabin sized suitcase I also have. Wouldn’t be without either of them, I fly frequently long haul and often only take cabin baggage so these are great for me at the moment.
