I'm so shocked and sad. What a woman. I never felt more amazing than wearing a VW dress on my wedding day. Someone who actually designed clothes with a female shape in mind.

So sad - she was an amazing designer but also came across as someone who I would have loved as a fab funky friend
I had no idea she was 81 - I thought she was only 70ish

Amazing woman. She made a powerful team with Malcolm McLaren. They shaped much of my growing up. I'm very happy that I have a Vivienne Westwood top in my wardrobe and I shall dig it out to wear on NYE. I feel so sad she's gone. What a talent.

I got married in VW too, although not a white wedding dress.

I have a second dress from her. I feel amazing in those dresses. I’m a very small hourglass woman with a DD cup and so many designers are completely out for me as I look like a sack of spuds in their clothes.

The last designer to have the skill and ability to know how to cut clothes for a real woman rather than a heroin chic supermodel or their gay boyfriend in a dress. So sad.

I nearly sent a VW skirt back to the charity shop last week, because I've just retired and I associate it with office life so I was thinking I'd let someone else have the benefit. Thank goodness I didn't. Sorry charity shoppers but it's not going anywhere now.

Dh used to buy her stuff in the 70’s, seditionary boots or something and cheese cloth tops. It would be worth a fortune if he’d kept it but he said it fell apart.
