Dior foundation

Very tempted to use some of my Xmas money towards a fancy foundation . I don’t get along with double wear but the Dior backstage one seems to get good reviews and is currently on offer in Boots . Can anyone recommend it ?

Not sure about backstage but I have Dior forever and it's the best foundation I have ever used, not drying, not sinking into lines (I'm nearly 40), super coverage but light at the same time. Can definitely recommend this one.

It's lighter than Double Wear and doesn't come off. I used it in the heat wave and it did not budge all day.

Dior Backstage is the cheaper line of Dior. You'd get better quality from Dior Beauty. Dior Forever is a very good foundation if you like high coverage and don't mind the scent.

I have looked at Dior Forever too the only thing putting me off is that when I have went for fuller coverage before with DW and HUDA foundations they haven’t suited me at all . Normally I use mac studio fix ?

Can you get to a dior counter?

You can book in for a free makeover, I think it’s £20 deposit to book that comes back off anything you purchase. That way you can try them but I would agree, forever is an amazing foundation. I haven’t tried the backstage one. I love dior makeup in general.

The nearest big department shop with a Dior counter closed during Covid . Now I’m torn between the backstage one and the forever !

I love the Backstage foundation. Apart from being excellent value, it's buildable and easy to blend with your fingers. Very travel friendly. Not all Dior counters sell the Backstage foundation though. I've recently bought the Forever one but I don't think it's as natural looking or as easy to live with as the Backstage one, so I'll go back to that.

@WrinklesShminkles i think backstage might be more for me as I prefer something natural looking . It’s actually so hard to get a decent foundation even though there’s so many on the market

Dior Forever is my all-time favourite foundation, but admittedly for evening events when I want full coverage. For daily use, when I want more of a natural finish, I prefer Nars tinted moisturiser to the Dior Backstage.
It's very difficult to guess your shade online though. Going to a counter for the first match is really worth the time and effort IMO. Is there any way to do an overnight trip to wherever your closest counter is, and squeeze in a little break alongside?

I know this isn’t Dior but the new Nars light reflecting foundation is amazing

is glowy and long lasting- highly recommend

SylviasMotherSaid · 29/12/2022 21:30

@NowWhatUsernameShallIHave Nars is the other big brand I’ve never tried . Do you prefer it to any other brands ?
