Best black jeans

That don't fade.

Every pair of black jeans I have seem to either fade or have white powder patches.

I'll try swapping to liquid detergent this coming year but guess I'll need a good pair of black jeans to start over with

Any recommendations for quality fade resistant black jeans?

Will probably stick with skinny/slim fit. Not into the new/old wider leg trend

Can't help with recommendations I'm afraid, but in the past I've dyed black jeans black again, once they start to fade.

GolfEchoRomeoTangoIndia · 28/12/2022 15:47

Honestly I'd just buy a pair I love and redylon them as and when necessary. A velvet black pod costs £5.79 in John Lewis.

Pennyforthezombies · 28/12/2022 15:56

And if you don’t already, wash them inside out.

GolfEchoRomeoTangoIndia · 28/12/2022 15:57

But yes, use liquid wash for colours. Anything will fade if you wash it with powder containing bleaching agents.

FineBerol · 28/12/2022 16:06

Ah I'll try the Dylon pod thing first . Knowing my luck something will go wrong though 🙃

Bought some of the liquid for black clothes by Waitrose for this but haven't used it enough to know if it works

familyissues12345 · 29/12/2022 00:01

Not an answer for black jeans, but I use a dark clothing detergent - Ecover usually but have also used Waitrose and Dreft

ShabbyChic999 · 29/12/2022 01:31

I really love M&S Lilly skinny jeans

FictionalCharacter · 29/12/2022 02:12

I use Aldi’s Almat washing powder for dark clothes and find it very good.

sorcerersapprentice · 29/12/2022 02:27

My Levis have been pretty good and still looking black 2 years on. I bought them via John Lewis

CoffeandTiaMaria · 29/12/2022 02:40

I use no bio liquid and the ‘Dark wash’ setting on my washing machine. And keep my fingers crossed!

Purpleavocado · 29/12/2022 20:03

M&S used to do no fade jeans, which were great, sadly I think they discontinued them. I can see Hollister ones online

Purpleavocado · 29/12/2022 20:06

Actually the hollister all seem to be men's

baddecisionsmakegreatcompany · 29/12/2022 20:12

French Connection for black skinnies

Tronkmanton · 29/12/2022 20:22

The holy grail are Fat Face 5 pocket jeggings Fat face jeggings- skinny but not skin tight, not too high waist, not too thick material and they don’t fade! I’ve tried no end- the worst for fading are River Island, closely followed by M&S. Hollister aren’t bad and they respond well to Dylon but they don’t sell the style I like anymore.

FineBerol · 29/12/2022 20:27

Thanks so much everyone

Tesco black contour jeans. High waisted skinny fit. Been buying for years, don't fade and don't really attract fluff etc!
