I've bought this top and need help styling it, preferably with some sort of cover-up/jacket/cardi for wearing in the colder months. Do models never smile - they look so bloody miserable. I'd throw a thin cardi over it but I am not in any way fashionable

Nice top. I agree with all previous posters so far. Thinking of what else I'd do if I was wearing it......blue jeans and white blazer (or cardi)or black blazer. A search for waterfall cardigan and v neck cami brings up lots of Shein outfits, which look nice (not a fan of Shein but gives some good examples).
