Leather jacket

about 10 year ago I bought a very nice black leather blazer type jacket from a charity shop, It suits me and I still wear it.

My local clothes shop sells black leather biker jackets for £129. Now when I had a look at the jacet the leathere was a bit thin compare to my second hand one I thought to myself that for a leather jacket it was a bit cheap I guess that my own one bought new would probably be about £250 The reviews from people say this cheap one is good quality, but how can it be good quality at such a low price?

The other thing I want to ask is that I wear my leather blazer to work but i would not wear a leather biker jaccket to work. Are leathere blazers smarter than leather biker jackets. I guess you can team a blazer one with a smart outfit whereas a biker one can only be worn with jeans

what price would you pay for a good quality leather jacket? I was brought up to think that cheap stuff are not madde to last hence my leather jacket still looking good 10 years on.

I also have a second hand sheepskin jacet which I bought 25 years ago which new would have cost me about £500 because it is a top quality make andd it will see me out my lietime

I think that if you are questioning the quality OP then maybe don’t buy the jacket at the charity shop and maybe put the money towards an All Saints leather jacket or any jacket where you think the quality reflects the price. I bought al All Saints leather jacket at a charity shop for around £12 a few months back.

ok but you misread my message. I alreay have a goo charity shop leather jacket which is a blazer. I am wonering about getting a biker jacet but not ure if thoe types of jaket suit mee an they are limited as to what you can wear them with. My blazer cana be worn with anything

Look at Pinterest and see what outfits incorporate the type of jacket you like and then think about how many pieces from the outfit you already own. It might help with your decision making. I personally love Pinterest for outfit inspo. I also like watching various You Tubers recreate Pinterest outfits from the pieces they already own.

A blazer can be worn indoors like a fabric blazer but a biker is more of an outdoor jacket imho so they do different jobs but I’ve worn both to work. You’ve reminded me to get my blazer out and see how I can wear it again as I’ve not used it in years.

I got an amazing second hand monsoon one off ebay. Love it. I bought it because its my style, no other reason.
