I have a little collection of stuff I’ve tried that doesn’t work for me/ I don’t love.

don’t have any relatives I can give them to. Not sure if a charity shop/food bank would accept them?? Seems such a waste to him them! Not worried about getting money for them, just don’t want to waste them.

any ideas?

Maybe a local foodbank could take them?

SparklySparky · 27/12/2022 09:36

Posted too soon! The food bank in my area definitely takes this sort of thing.

StickyCricket · 27/12/2022 09:38

Give them away on here. I’ve done it in the past. There’s usually a beauty advent calendar item swap/giveaway thread.

A bit random but I work in a hospital and our mortuary asks for donations of makeup etc for their patients as they quite often end up paying out of their own pockets to make the patients look nice for viewings.

Iwritethissittinginthekitchensink · 27/12/2022 10:41

seems such a waste to bin* them!

It’s more hair/moisturiser type stuff than makeup but will explore those ideas, thanks everyone

@Starsnores that’s incredible work ❤

www.toiletriesamnesty.org/ will take them. It's great to know they won't go to waste and someone else can benefit.

Womens refuge

I don't think anywhere will take used products tbh.

Hereforthedramaz · 27/12/2022 10:58

I always assumed food banks wouldn't take opened things, good to know that might not be the case.

I've given away bundles on Olio and it's always been successful and easy.

MerryChristmasToYou · 27/12/2022 11:49

Offer them as a bundle on freegle

Shitfather · 27/12/2022 12:27

You could offer them on here. I was a very lucky recipient of some lovely products and would do the same.

Cocolapew · 27/12/2022 12:31

My local Tesco has a big box to collect used make up, it's next to the food bank so I don't know if its connected.
Think it says Mabelline on it, I'm going to investigate this week as I have loads that could go in it.

Cocolapew · 27/12/2022 12:32

Oh and I'm on a Zero waste Facebook page that regularly has opened make up on it.

VerifiedBot2351 · 27/12/2022 12:38

I put them on a local Facebook free page.
