Removing personalisation from trainers

Hi, my DP was given quite expensive sports shoes for Christmas but 'for a joke' the gifter got them personalised 🙄 and now he doesn't want to wear them. Absolute dick move tbh by the gifter. Does anyone know how we can remove it? It's not stitched, it looks more like it's melted onto the synthetic upper? Posting in desperation as we really don't have this money to waste at the moment, and it feels so wasteful not to use them.

Will it peel off? Hard to say without a photo.

Nail varnish remover? This worked for me on boots recently where there was a metallic imprint of the size

User478 · 26/12/2022 21:39

Could you cover it with Sharpie?

Nail polish remover. I had a lot of athletic kit from when I was sponsored athlete and I wanted to continue wearing the kit after I was no longer sponsored. Worked brilliantly.

@Galarunner - you need to do an AMA!

Acetone has taken it right off! Almost as if it was never there, you could only see the outline if you really went looking for it. Thank you everyone
