Can earrings be returned/ exchanged?

My Mum has gifted me some earrings from Warren James for Christmas. I love earrings, but these are really not my style and I wouldn't wear them. Also a he bought me very similar earrings last year so I don't know why I've got them again bless her.

I'm worried that they may not exchange them due to them being for pierced ears, and her gift will be a waste (cost about £50). Obviously they are unworn but there's no way to prove this. Does anyone know if they will take returns/
exchanges? I've no receipt.

Doubtful.
Normally jewellers only exchange earrings if they're faulty.

Thanks @fancyacuppatea

Can't be returned because it's unhygienic and they won't take your word for it that they haven't been in your ears. You can sell them privately or to a cash for gold/silver place if they are, but you won't get retail price for them because they're not taking the design or brand into account. If you like them maybe keep them because earrings do get lost sometimes so having a spare pair of favourites might come in handy.

No, definitely can’t be returned unfortunately!

Worth noting, if ever buying earrings as a gift, a lot of jewellers have small seals that they can put round the earrings in the box which allows them to be returned provided the seal is intact 😊 they just don’t do it unless specifically asked 🙄

@IndianSummer78 no they're horrible unfortunately! Like hoops but oddly elongated so as to make the wearers earlobes look droopy

I'd say that's a no, but unsurprising.

It isn't a waste if she think you like them though and it is the thought that counts. As far as she's concerned she spent £50 on a gift that you like and I'd keep it that way and closer to the time next year gently suggest no earrings this year please.
