I have long been admiring their coats and now there's a sale on.
Can anyone recommend any coats which are waterproof and warm too?
My MN research says the Janelle won't work.
I know at my size, it's all going to be difficult but any advice wouid be appreciated .

I'd go for the Millook as it looks like you could use it all year round.

CarrieAnnQ · 23/12/2022 14:38

I’ve got the Janelle and love it, why don’t you think it will work?

PeasInOurTime · 23/12/2022 14:42

I’m a big Seasalt fan but with coats you need to go and try on if you can. Their sizing is inconsistent and I find the coats narrow across the shoulders/shirt in the sleeve so have to size up. But they are fab coats if you can find the right one!!

I went for the plant hunter or whatever it’s called, in 18.
I suspect it may be frumpy…. But it’s waterproof and warm and has adjustable waist bits so at least it can nip in a bit and have some shape

@User0610134057 I was looking at planter one too.
Which colour do have ?

I have a few and they are all great but my favourite is the Pentewan coat I got this year in the Dark Lake colour. The shape is beautiful and the off-centre zip makes it a bit different. I'm a curvy 12/14 and went up to 14 to fit jumpers under. It's been great in all the rain we've had this autumn!

MyOtherCarIsAHearse · 23/12/2022 16:48

Just a heads up if you have sensitive skin — I had to sell on my coat because I had a huge reaction to whatever they use to make their coats waterproof. Ended up with a huge rash around my neck and wrists. Their customer service couldn’t have been any less helpful. They didn’t give too hoots and basically said ‘oh well’.

I have a Janelle and a plant hunter, both do the job! I also have a purple dryrobe from Primark was £45 when I bought it..less staff discount then so £38 just as good but more trendy/roomy imho

I'm a pear-shaped size 18, 5'4". I've been eyeing up the lill cove which is currently in the sale for dog walking. I want something that covers my bum but isn't too long, and I was thinking the A line cut might suit my body shape...

MissHavershamReturns · 23/12/2022 17:06

I tried the janelle and I’m size 16 pear. It made me look pretty fat and older.

Columbina · 23/12/2022 17:08

I suspect all seasalt costs are frumpy-ish,. People buy them because they're practical, not because they're elegant and stylish. Not that there's anything wrong with wanting a practical cost.

Im size 18 and have the plant hunter in green :) not frumpy, bought it in my late 20s as beed a decent coat with a dog and toddler

Would recommend plant hunter im a 5'4 size 18 pear and its comfy over bum and hips. Also has double zip so you can unzip just the bottom for when you're in the car if you want more room

Same with a Primark dryrobe for a third of the price...£45 is top dollar in Primark! They hadn't sold that well because of that, but stocks are now low but not reduced apparently...a loss leader I suspect! I love mine more than my seasalt I paid £100 in the sale for

User0610134057 · 23/12/2022 18:15

@MakeItADouble2 i have navy
it’s from about 5 years ago but is still going strong!

KirstenBlest · 23/12/2022 18:28

A double zip is so useful. I like a coat to have snap fasteners as well as a zip.

MakeItADouble2 · 23/01/2023 17:11

Got a janelle in the end. Love how warm it is but is tent like but not bothered.
