Oily cast to blusher etc

I keep getting a hard 'cast' on my blusher, probably from my oily skin. When it's there, none of the blusher can lift onto my brush. I can get rid of it by scratching it off or using sellotape, but can I stop it from happening? I feel that I'm wasting most of my expensive Mac blusher trying to get rid of the cast. ☹️

Scratch the surface gently with a clean mascara wand

I would dip the (clean!) brush, tap into lid
Apply, then use excess from lid if you need more rather than the pan
Wipe brush on a towel or spray clean after use
That way you're not transferring oils from your skin maybe?

Could you use a cream blusher then set it with translucent loose powder.

I have had this problem but only with some brands. I've had lots of blushers this has never happened with. My Clarins one has never done this.

Wash your brushes more often?
