Tinted moisturiser and face powder recommendations

I've used soap and glory glow job for years before it was discontinued. Since then, I've tried so many different tinted moisturisers but not happy with any! Latest is a nivea one but it's so thick and cakey! Can anyone recommend an alternative please? I wear under number seven foundation.

Also after an alternative to Seventeen miracle matte face powder please as this has been discontinued for a while too. This was great for my skin as it had oil/shine control.
Current powder is dreadful, gathers around my nose and chin and looks horrendous!

Thank you!

I was going to suggest Nivea, but thats out!

I use Guerlain Meteorites in light as my powder and I have a very greasy shiny nose and chin as well as living in a hot climate and it works perfectly for me, but it has got a bit of sparkle to it. I have tried many many powders, some of the Japanese brands work well as well as cheap as chips Fit Me by Maybelline. Chanel was recommended and I thought it was total rubbish.

The hydroluminous no7 tinted moisturiser is great, gives a light dewy coverage.

Laura mercier have the best, finest powders. Some have a sheen, one is designed for under the eyes. They are elite, try them.

Max factor facefinity compact has been a great powder for me. It gives really good coverage and sits well on my combination skin. It can be difficult to get the right shade at first. I had to try a few. I don't usually buy max factor products but I love this powder.

I love Lily Lolo BB cream - it’s definitely more like a tinted moisturiser in terms of coverage. I find the texture light and the pigment doesn’t settle into fine lines. And I use their loose mineral foundation powder to finish oily areas, or their matte finishing powder if I want a bit more staying power. Ethical brand, fantastic quality products.

Nars or Laura Mercia

LemonFrosting · 17/12/2022 09:49

I remember trying a cream years ago, bb or cc, not sure, and it was really thick. Are they still like this?
What I liked about glow job was how light it was, could be used under foundation or by itself.

The Lily Lolo BB isn’t thick at all. I’d say it’s the same kind of consistency as the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser which I used to use. I apply with fingers

I love the eborian bb cream. It's very light - I bought the It Cosmetics CC cream a while
back and found it too heavy/greasy, but I love the eborian. I'm not sure what it does, but it looks like my skin but better!

Puppalicious · 17/12/2022 13:04

Nars, or Morphe if you’re looking for cheaper

PerpetualStudent · 17/12/2022 13:08

I would say Lily Lolo is a bit thicker than Laura Mercier, not heavier coverage, but just a bit denser in texture - however because it doesn’t ( I think?) have petroleum-based products in it does IMO sink in more nicely than LM

I’ve got really into the Typology tinted serums - really lightweight although they have a limited shade range

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder is lovely. Comes in a compact but goes on with a brush and it leaves your skin flawless and glowing.

DarkAndDusty · 17/12/2022 13:53

Laura mercier is my favourite. It has better coverage (ie more foundation-like) than other tinted moisturisers I've tried and leaves a nice dewey (but not oily) finish

I’d second this, and the LM tinted moisturisers are the best. They are expensive, but foundation is where you want to spend money on makeup if you have it. If you don’t then the no. 7 suggestion above sounds good

MistyRock · 17/12/2022 16:47

Would it not be better to use a normal moisturiser and instead, get a new foundation with better coverage so you then won't need a tinted moisturiser?

Fiveletters · 17/12/2022 17:08

Huda beauty powder is brilliant.

I’ve recently tried the Eborian BB cream and I would recommend it but the shade range is limited I think.

I think it's habit! But some days I'll just use the tinted moisturiser by itself with no make up. I like that a tint creates a bit of coverage by itself.

Remember that Korean BB creams are much more like western foundations than tinted moisturizer.
I have the Erborian BB and it's a much fuller coverage than the foundation I usually use (N7 hydraluminous) Korean CCs are lighter in coverage. Unfortunately the lightest Erborian CC still tangos me.
The best powder I've found recently is Revolution Pro CC powder. It's bloody brilliant. (I've used loads of high end stuff in the past but this is, if anything, better)

Fair enough. ☺️

Soap and Glory Heck of a Blot is my choice powder for an oily t zone. However I guess it depends on your colour complexion. I am not sure what shades it covers as it is pale looking.
