Middle aged, 5ft 9 athletic slim build. I feel invisible personally and professionally. I look smart, clean, put together but come across classic/ dull. I need your help?

You've got a good place to start from, with your height and being slim. What do you typically wear now?

Vampitup · 16/12/2022 11:45

Trousers, skirts, dresses, colour or black. Boots trainers. More tailored look. Don't want to look boring bland

I was feeling like this. I looked into kibbe typing. It's quite complicated but there are quizzes you can do to work out your ID and then suggestions for what might look best. It's really helped me. You might be a classic or a dramatic.

Accessories can really make an outfit too

DeFacto · 17/12/2022 02:40

Maybe you just are classically dull. Most people don't look very interesting
.
What do you wish to look like?

Blimey @DeFacto

OP, you are not boring!
The fact that you are interested in changing your style shows you want to mix it up.
Why not go on Pinterest and look for a celebrity whose style you do like and try to emulate them?
Also the PP advice re Kibbe is spot on - I swear by it now. I'm a Soft Dramatic and it really helps me to hone in on what suits me.
One thing I have noticed is that my outfits might be relatively safe sometimes but if I have one or two items that are more on trend it pulls the look together better. So yesterday, I had on a long cream boiled wool oversized coat with a brown collared jumper and thermal lined faux leather leggings. But then I had a big chunky gum soled beige nude pair of boots on and a very short padded cream cross body bag. These just stopped the outfit looking too boring.
