Best mittens to prevent chilblains

abouttimeforanewname · 15/12/2022 07:32

I had them for the first time last year and I've got them again!
The look hideous and they hurt 😥

Apparently prevention is better than a cure so I am after some really good mittens/gloves to protect my hands and keep them warm.
As always, I'm searching the web but personal recommendations from you guys are much better.

TIA

I have some running gloves/mittens from decathlon which are great. They are gloves but have a mitten part as well which works really well to keep my hands warm.

thanks for the reply. I shall check out Decathlon now.

Watching as well, third year in a row of chilblains 😢

Yes mittens are recommended over gloves for chilblains and reynauds.

Taking a ginger supplement and eating a lot of fresh ginger generally in hot drinks and curries completely reversed my Reynauds which I used to suffer horribly from.

I’d recommend sheepskin mittens. So toasty

Thanks for the replies. Sadly I don’t much like ginger but I’ll try it though as you’ve suggested it might help.

I use liner gloves and fake fur lined mittens from North 66. Had them for at least 5 years, quality is really good.

I have had these for a couple of years - Tommy Tou sheepskin mittens. Wear them over a pair of fleece gloves & the combination works very well. I got the medium size - I have quite small hands but have room to wear an inner pair of thick gloves

You need touchscreen friendly liner gloves under mittens as well so that when you take the mittens off to do things your hands are still protected. I have Berghaus down mittens which are incredible

Thank you for the extra comments. I've shown them all to DD and I've now been told to be patient and wait for Christmas as "it's sorted". 🤗
Thank goodness our really cold spell has stopped.

Turtle Doves fingerless gloves work for me.
