Steam straighteners? l'oreal steam pod, REVAMP Progloss Steam Care or remington hydraluxe ???

I have very thick wavy hair which as I've got older is turning more to frizz!
I'm thinking of going straight but worried about damage. Are steam straighteners gentler? Does anyone know if the revamp and hydraluxe do the same as the steam pod which is in a very different price bracket!! thank you!

Looks like they are gentler. Interesting. I had to google what they were

I've been using the L'Oréal steampod 3 for the last few years. It's a game changer less damage and no crispy ends. Way better than my T3 ceramics.

Version 4 is coming out soon if you also want to curl your hair.

Thank you @SheWoreYellow thats an interesting article and gives me hope! Thank you @Mercurial123 its good to hear first hand, I may have to bite the bullet, its juts a big spend though cheaper in the long run than keratin treatments and hopefully better for my hair!!
