New trainers - what shall I get?

Hi stylish ladies of Mumsnet!

Im asking DH to get me new trainers for Xmas. I would really like something a bit cool and colourful.
Normally I’m pretty dulls-ville with trainers - got some white Stan Smiths and beigey converse hi tops.

what would you recommend? I’m really open minded on style and budget (within reason!)

thank you very much

I cannot claim to be a stylish lady and I don’t have them but I’m currently tempted by Hoff The Brand from
Anthropologie (and other places) - very colourful!

Hi, just my opinion (and might be my feet) but I found Hoffs really uncomfortable and ended up selling them on Vinted fairly quickly as I just didn't wear them.

I just got the converse chuck 70 plus high tops, they are so comfortable and love that they look good with wide leg jeans and trousers and keep my feet & ankles warm! They’ve really updated my look.

Not sure how stylish they are but Michael Kors trainers are so comfy and give a bit of height

Thank you! Love both these options.

Agree comfort is v important - I’m too old for painful shoes!

I’m not so young either and they’ve been a revelation! I thought they would be chilly being canvas but the thick sole is chill proof! They have some special ortholite cushioning in the sole and the most comfortable trainers I’ve ever had. True to size too.

I've become a bit of a trainers enthusiast lately and my go tos are either

Onitsuka Tigers in navy leather

Or Nike Airmax in an all over dark purply suede.

Both unbelievably comfy and at 37 I hope not too old style wise but not too teenage either!

I’ve just got new balance 327 beige with leopard print. A few friends have similar and all say how comfy they are.

otherwise I have some really comfy ones from marks and Spencer’s of all places.

I recommend Air and Grace. They're not cheap but different, comfy and well made. I have 3 pairs now. 10% off for new customers.

I usually go for New Balance or Asics for the fit and great support. I only wear them to the gym though so not a fashion statement.Wink

I quite like these Puma Mayze ones.

I got a bit carried away with Vans this year and bought six pairs. They are in various colours and a couple of pairs are the new ultrarange and they are the most comfortable I've ever worn www.vans.co.uk/shop/en-gb/vans-gb/ultrarange-vr3-shoes-vn0a4bxbbd5

Thank you so much. These are all great ideas.

I went shopping yesterday and (in the 10 mins I had to myself!) found Jordan 1 mids. Bit worried they may look a bit mid life crisis-y but do rather like them!

Maybe something like these, but perhaps not this exact colour way.
