These slimming body suits that I keep seeing

Overreactionpossibly · 02/12/2022 22:42

They are all over tiktok and Facebook.
Full body suits that are apparently comfortable to wear and slimming.
Honestly, they sound like the holy grail for my podgy arse. (and stomach)
Has anyone here got one? Can you recommend and if so, where was it from please?

Bump! Also interested.

whataboutya · 02/12/2022 22:59

Are they the Skims one? (Kim K's brand)
Primary do a cheap version lol

AriettyHomily · 02/12/2022 23:02

Thank you. Can you tell that I haven't been shopping in ages.
The prices seem to vary wildly.

Are they worth it? Actually comfy? Can anyone recommend a particular one?
(She says after eating most of a pack of bree and an Aldi choc marzipan bar)

Just to warn you that all the til tok and Facebook adverts are mostly faked eg they apply a filter once the suit is on that make the model look much slimmer than they actually are

I know. I'm just chasing unicorns. ☹️
I just wondered if they worked a little bit and we're comfy.
I always wear a vest in winter so at least one of these wouldn't constantly size up.

pocketvenuss · 03/12/2022 12:57

Just think about it. If they are comfy then they aren't sucking in hard. If they aren't sucking in hard then they aren't going to make a whole lot of difference

I stupidly fell for a Conturve advert, and bought some shorts that go up over your stomach. My god they are awful. Very synthetic and too hard to get into, and to be honest they simply squeeze everything out to appear bulging elsewhere.

I think a good fitting dress in a flattering shape would be better to be honest.

Fizzadora · 03/12/2022 13:14

Awful awful awful. Shorts/pants roll down and bras/tops roll up. All in ones are useless unless you get one with an open crotch because trying to get those snapper back together when you have had a wee even when sober is just a nightmare. Asking a friend is just way too intimate.
They flatten your boobs and spread your stomach out to the most godawful shape and then the sweat😱😱 and the discomfort if you eat or drink a lot.
What someone really needs to invent is a thin cotton elastane smoother. Just firm enough to hold you together without squishing.
Spent years and ££££'s buying these things and now just make sure I buy clothes that skim - not that I go out anywhere these days anyway.
Just have a few drinks before you go then you won't care🤣

UseOfWeapons · 03/12/2022 13:35

Not seen these, must have a look 👀!
I did once buy some bloody expensive shorts that were supposed to reduce cellulite, when worn for a few hours every day.

I am a gullible twat.

Not only did they do nothing for my cellulite-ridden thighs and arse, they gave me dreadful migraines.

Waste of money, but haven’t been seduced this sort of thing since. I’ve just made friends with my wobbly bits, and don’t really give a shit any more.

Overreactionpossibly · 04/12/2022 00:15

That would be a no then..... I suppose that I should lay off the bree and mince pies in that case ☹️

I agree with this. I think the best thing to buy is body suit from M&s a light support one to wear over your bra. It will smooth the lines and help your dress to glide over your body nicely. The ones which are firm support just push your flesh out if the sides, tips of thighs, and squash your breasts.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 04/12/2022 05:50

Agreed, the M&S one that you can wear your own bra with is the best. It smooths me out enough that dresses look less bumpy. I'm still fat, but I'm smooth fat. Grin

thelonggame · 04/12/2022 07:15

I have a few bodysuits that are like swimsuits with press stud fastener.
I wear a pair of knickers underneath otherwise the fasteners can dig in. Apart from that are really comfy, it doesn't really suck it all in, but rather smooths my outline so I look better in a dress.

ShandaLear · 04/12/2022 08:32

I sometimes wear a swimsuit under a dress for a special occasion. Does the same job.

RestingMurderousFace · 04/12/2022 13:11

Not a bodysuit but I’ve got a couple of the Skims lounge dresses/nightie things. I was sceptical at first but my god they are flattering! They somehow manage to smooth everything but leave your arse standing up like a ripe peach. If the bodysuits are made of the same fabric then I’d recommend trying them.

Very different fabric and fit than Spanx type things which made my arse look like it had been run over by a steamroller.

WellTidy · 04/12/2022 13:14

I’ve worn Spanx higher power on night out for years and I think they’re great. I am between sizes, and they recommend you size down in that case. I could t disagree more, I definitely need to size up.

Mine start from under the bra strap and come down like cycling shorts.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 04/12/2022 15:18

Unless you can afford Spanx or the M&S wear over your bra one I’d forget it.

I’ve got various slimming shorts, slimming knickers and tights and have got a Spanx higher power one too. Tempted to buy a Skims but I hate the Kardashians.

Cleaner eating, fewer snacking and exercise slims me too.

Agreed re the Spanx one (which I got in desperation!), I still wear it though.

Purplepeopleeaterz · 04/12/2022 17:58

Have tried so many but this one actually does what it says. Bodysuit

Mairead81 · 25/02/2023 03:36

I've just bought the Acquaintn sucky in all in 1s before checking reviews. What have I done all the reviews are saying they are a waste of money and they are useless trying to get a refund. Maybe I'll be lucky and they might work holding in all my wee extra bits of wobbly stuff 🤞😱🤣

Zsofia888888 · 21/04/2023 13:16

Don't buy it. They are scammers. I bought one of them and they're so uncomfortable. They don't want to take it back nor give me a refund.

JaceLancs · 21/04/2023 16:06

I’ve just bought the M n S body suit that you wear own bra with for a wedding and am happy with it - it’s more about smoothing and no VPL it was true to size as well

saturdaymorning111 · 21/04/2023 21:31

I have 4 of these now

On days at home I wear them as a preference with no bra but for work or going out I wear with bra as it doesn't really support up - so I feel held in place but too low down if that makes sense (32DD).

I will nearly always wear a vest / thin T-shirt tucked In to knickers as it's just how I feel comfortable so these tick that box - I feel warm and cosy.

It "snatches" the waist but not too tightly so it makes it nice and smooth when wearing trousers / dresses. They were tighter when new. Obviously it doesn't do what the adverts would have you believe.

Gusset is hook and eye which are easy enough but still annoying.

I'd buy more but for me I use them as a warm under layer/ break for from a bra - v cosy.

I'm tall and a 10 for reference
