1 month to “glow up”

I’m returning to work after mat leave in January and DH is starting his shared parental leave. DS is 6 months old, I also have DS1 who is 5. I’ve got a haircut booked but what else can I do to look “put together” and semi competent when I go back to work?

I have also found a new sheer foundation that suits me, will have to see how it looks after a full day of Teams meetings however.

I am waiting a referral to a women’s health physio so not feeling as confident as usual so I think a bit of a glow up looks wise would help.

Take some time to look at your work wardrobe. Sometimes your shape isn't the same after having a baby, so you may need a few new items to look sharp and feel confident. Stick to a few good neutrals with a good fit.

Brows, new good bra

-Decent hair cut/colour
-Manicure
-Sort out brows and unwanted facial hair (if applicable)
-Good skincare routine if you don't already have one
-If you don't already exercise, start doing something regularly that gets your heart pounding or your muscles working. It's not so much about losing weight but it helps make you look healthier, more glowy and sleeker even if the scales stay the same. Helps with mindset as well.
-Buy some items of clothing that make you feel good.

Have two make up bags the same - one at home and one at work in case you run out of time one morning.
Get yourself a "uniform" of work pieces - don't need to be expensive but it makes it easy in the morning to put together. Agree about neutrals.
A good pair of shoes and a decent handbag or tote bag or rucksack even.
People have already talked about make up. It makes the world of difference.

I work from home so at least I don’t need to worry about shoes! I should have said.

Thanks all, I will take a look at my wardrobe, mainly at tops and see if I can get a few new pieces.
