I'm looking for a nice long wool coat. Have seen one I like I Karen Millen but not sure on the quality now they're owned by Boohoo. Also seen one in Zara but it seems sort of thin. Can anyone advise? Or recommend somewhere else to look? I don't mind spending up to.maybe £300 or so.

Or Hush. They have one I quite like the look of. Are there's any good?

Jaeger. Always have coats that are wool and are classic. Via M&S these days. Wait for Toast sale? Cos always has a few classic coats. Arket might but I haven’t checked if they are wool. Whistles and Jigsaw definitely have wool coats. Wait for the sales?

Try the charity shops. I got a wool/ alpaca and maybe mohair mix M and S coat for ten pounds last year.

If TK Maxx still has a Gold Label section it really is worth a look - in person rather than online, so you can assess the quality of the fabric. I’ve had at least half a dozen exceptionally good coats from there over the past decade and a half.Though you do need to know your labels. (Brand and fabric content.)

There are some lovely ones in Mango, surprisingly good quality for the price
