Giant juicy spot on chin … To squeeze or not to squeeze??🫣

So I have a giant pustule that has formed on my chin. Possibly hormonal or possibly due to recently introducing retinol into my skin routine.

Either way I now have a decision to make… Do I squeeze it or leave it??

I know I shouldn’t really squeeze it but it’s so tempting…

What do you ladies do when you find yourself in a situation like this?

P.S I would include a pic but I don’t want to put anyone off their breakfast, it really is grotesque 🤢

Assuming it is not one of those painful ones buried way under the skin, I'd burst it and get all the puss out.

Givemepinkgin · 27/11/2022 06:44

No it’s right at the surface, I think it would pop real easy😳

Post on Sporners corner OP! You'll get excellent advice there. They will want a photo though. 😂

sarahc336 · 27/11/2022 06:50

I'd pop that personally 🤣

Thefailinghousewife · 27/11/2022 06:52

How is this even a question?! You post photos, then video the pop. Please. Or give me your number and I’ll come pop it for you?!

thenotsoeviltwin · 27/11/2022 07:58

Sporners corner with a pic!

KatherineJaneway · 27/11/2022 15:18

Then disinfect, steam and pop away!

BobbyBobbyBobby · 27/11/2022 15:46

Sterilise a pin or needle and pop and then hold a tcp soaked cotton pad over the area after you’ve wiped the pus away.

Update

I decided to squeeze the spot, I tried to leave it but it seemed to be getting bigger and the pressure from all the pus building up under the skin was so uncomfortable … I didn’t film it but it was truly disgusting, I don’t think anyone would want to see that 😂

I cleansed the area afterwards and dabbed some antiseptic cream on, so hopefully it won’t come back 🤞🏻

Who do you think you are , waltzing into Sporner corner with a beautiful big zit, getting us all excited and then refusing to take a photo of it?

Get out, get out and never darken these doors again

Amateur.

😂 … What is this sporner corner? I haven’t come across this part of mumsnet before… would I be right in thinking it’s a place where everyone shares pics of their spots?? 😁

LadyOfTheCanyon · 28/11/2022 07:43

Yes! It's in the "in the club" section of MN.

We're a happy bunch.

StateOfTheUterus · 28/11/2022 07:48

You’re one of those “Zit tease” women, aren’t you? 🤪

Baaaaaa · 28/11/2022 07:55

"Zit tease" 😆.

It's ready. I say go for it. You jammy thing!

Also kudos for letting it get to this stage.

I wish you a satisfying pop.

No photo? Pfffft. Flicks hair and storms off.

I wouldn’t want to deprive you (or the sporners) of a good squeeze but for next time hydrocolloid patches are really really good for those deep hormonal chin spots.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 28/11/2022 08:30

I keep piercing needles in the house and if I have a deep spot I use a nice, clean needle to slide deep into the spot and then squeeze out the contents.
