...That is the question

Wondering what your views are on modern "mullety" versus shag or lob hairdos. I have quite wild long hair but I am forever dissatisfied with the shape of it and I'm not sure what I'm after. I often prefer it caught back a bit. I'd like something a little better shaped but with some kind of messiness to it. What's the difference between a modern mullet and a shag haircut. I keep toying also with the thought of a short fringe. But I had a fringe in the past and remember swearing to myself never ever again after the misery of growing it out. It might annoy me having something sat on my forehead over my eyes too. Perhaps I'm just bored but I feel like I want to pep my hairstyle up a bit without changing it massively. Or make it just slightly edgier without being ridiculous. Any advice?

Go to a good hairdresser and get the mullet.

Hope the image uploads. I've got very unruly hair that curls madly when it's damp or humid. I showed this to my hairdresser and she's cut it in the same style. Unfortunately I'm 58 and don't have the face of the model 😆 but I love it. It looks great when it's straight but also lovely when curly. And I can still put it in a pony tail.

Shag
That's a haircut not an instruction
I like #18 but the fringe is a bit long

#20 is good too
