Proper waterproof man's coat

DH has a new train commute this Autumn after driving to his job for years. He has a 10 min walk from home to the station then 40 mins on the train, then 20 min walk to his job. He has to wear a suit. He's been getting drenched in either his decent wool coat or his weekend shower proof jacket, which also looks a bit rubbish with a suit. Does anyone know where he could look for a proper waterproof coat with a hood which will keep him properly dry on his walk in the rain? I wouldn't want to spend more than £150 really but I am not sure if a proper coat to keep him dry even exists. Can anyone help please? TIA

You should look at the hydrostatic head of the material
That will show whether it actually keeps the rain out. Maybe a good umbrella too.

Alternatively a wax jacket like a drizabone or long barbour

A country stores type place. DH has a lovely Aigle coat which does exactly what you want.

Land's End have some coats that aren't too outdoorsy. Mine (smart mac with button-out thermal lining and detachable hood) got nicked from my car, and I'm still wondering what the feral youth round here actually did with it (they left my SheWee on top of the recycling bin...).

Thanks, I have ordered a Lands End stadium coat and we shall see. Thanks ladies!
