Vinted. Does anyone else find this really annoying?

I ‘ve had two instances this week of people making offers for an item. I’ve accepted and the I hear nothing.
Send a polite query as to whether they want to proceed.,The message shows it’s been read, but then nothing.
I find it quite rude tbh.

Ah I'm guilty of this sometimes. Something else comes up snd I get distracted or buy something else. Only if it's a transactional automated exchange though (Offer £25? Accepted) - .I wouldn't do it if someone actually typed me a message.

Sorry on behalf of us all though! Will do better

Forestflies1972 · 24/11/2022 12:12

No it doesn't annoy me. I'm also guilty of doing it occasionally. I'll make offers on a coupls of items and if ones for less or gets accepted first then i buy it and not the other one. Until they've actually bought it it's still for sale.

Ohmygoshposh · 24/11/2022 12:23

No I think that’s fine . I don’t interpret an offer as having sold the item.

what annoys me is when I buy an item & the seller never sends it. Just set your account to “holiday” mode if you’re too busy to send stuff!

It actually did annoy me too, which is one of the reasons I stopped selling on Vinted and went back to eBay, where offers are binding. I also like that on eBay you can set a minimum for offers you will consider, so that you screen out the time wasters who make silly offers.

Bostock82 · 24/11/2022 19:18

I make it clear on all my items NO OFFERS. It works!

megletthesecond · 24/11/2022 19:20

This is annoying me at the moment. Someone messaged me last week and I never heard back from her.

InsomniacVampire · 24/11/2022 20:16

Loads of sellers never reply/answer to offers, so I sometimes make a few offers and then go for one or two items that reply and I like them most.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/11/2022 20:18

I've had worse than that @FANTINE2 !
I got a message saying an item had been reduced. Bought it straight away. Seller cancelled the sale!

FANTINE2 · 24/11/2022 20:54

I just find it really annoying. Someone offered a low price recently and I accepted it. After 12 hrs I messaged to politely ask if they would like to proceed. No answer, but I could see that they had read the message.

I think you're taking it too personally, to be honest. Just accept or reject the offer and don't give it another thought. They'll buy it or they won't.

Boohooyouho · 24/11/2022 21:00

I accepted an offer the other day. Then a day later they made a lower offer. Err no.

Claudia84 · 24/11/2022 21:01

It is annoying but there are so many items on vinted it's just one of those things. I've made offers on a couple of things at once before with a view that if an offer isn't accepted on item a I'll buy item b. But if item a is accepted as well as b- I'll buy A.
Don't take it personally. It's a marketplace.

Although people that don't send items Angry

Yeah it pisses me off too
