Mens gloves - anyone understand sizing?!

I'm about to buy some gloves for my husband. Options are:

S (6)
M (7-9)
L (10-11)

My husband is 5'11" and slim / medium build. Normal sized hands (!?!). Do I go M or L? They're pricey and I'm quite short on time so keen to get it right first time.

Hands size correspond to feet size!
So buy whatever size that matches his shoe size

L. Size 7 on a man is seriously “dainty”. I’m 8.5 and I wouldn’t consider I have shovels…

The numbers are the measurement in inches around the palm (above thumb). I’m a woman and I’m an 8 - I have bigger hands than a small man would.

His feet are a UK 10 (I think the gloves are
Swedish but let's not complicate things) so I'm going to go large.

It was a department store glove seller that told me that about glove and shoe sizes. An odd little factoid.
