Does anyone else use caster oil on eyelashes? 👀

So for the past couple of months I have been using caster oil (came with an eyelash applicator and eyebrow applicator) on my eyelashes every night before bed. I forgot to do a before pic for comparison but my eyelashes seem longer and thicker. I’m not sure how it works, maybe it just moisturises the hair to promote growth? … But it’s made such a difference to me.

Plus it’s so much cheaper and probably safer than the expensive eyelash serums you can buy (that potentially risk changing your eye colour😱)…

I’m just so impressed with this little beauty hack I thought I would share it, and I also wondered how many other people use it? Also if you know of any other surprisingly simple beauty hacks, please tell me??

I've used it and it didn't make any difference. It probably improved the condition.

I've started using organic castor oil with a mascara wand (recycled cleaned one). I hope the results are as good as yours

I use it but haven't noticed a difference on my eyelashes. If I put in my hair, leave overnight and wash out, my hair seems in better condition until I wash it again

I used it before but didn’t notice a difference and stopped because someone said it could clog some gland or other to do with your eye but tbh I’d have continue had it worked!!! Really want to try one of the products have seen on Facebook but they’re very expensive if they don’t work!

I use castor oil on my hair sometimes. Makes it feel soft.

I've used both revitalash and castor oil and would say revitalash would win hands down if it wasn't for the slight reddish tinge on my eye lid when I used it. But I do miss using it.

I do use castor oil when I've had a lash lift though as I think it's good to keep them conditioned when using what is essentially a perm product on your eyes!

Ooh I hadn’t thought of using it on my hair… Is it kind of like a hair mask?

You can use it on your eyebrows too

Classica · 23/11/2022 16:19

anecdotally I found that I did notice increased growth in my eyebrows and lashes when I rubbed castor oil in to them every night. It took several months though, so not a quick fix like some of the hair growth serums. It may be that there's some kind of anti bacterial component in castor oil that increases the viability of the hair follicles? No idea really.

Chloefairydust · 23/11/2022 16:20

My eyebrows are big enough already haha… God if I started putting caster oil on them I can only imagine what I would look like 😆

Castor oil is the primary ingredient in Elasticizer too. So if that's a product you like but find to be a bit ££, it may be worth slathering your scalp in castor oil on a weekly basis instead.

vitahelp · 23/11/2022 16:26

I use it on my hair (I mix it with olive oil as a carrier due to the caster oil being so thick). I'm not sure if it is making a big difference to my hair, it's hard to tell as I started taking collagen and using hair masks/scalp serum etc at the same time.

I haven't tried using it on eyelashes, but I do use xlash serum and I'm so impressed with the results.
