Blush colour sallow skin tones

I need some make up help! Can anyone recommend an ideally multi purpose cheek and lip colour for me, I'm 40, white, brown hair and eyes, but I have what I'd say is yellow ish sallow undertone skin colour and really struggle to work out what's the right colour on me.

I only wear tinted moisturiser usually. But these days when I wear more make, eg going out, I think I'm making myself look worse! My only blusher is a powder, it's quite pink and also a bit sparkly, i liked it a few years ago but not any more. I once had a more orange one and thought that was terrible! Lipstick I don't wear as clueless. I wear glasses so don't want to end up looking like I've got too much going on. Aiming for natural look but like I'm eating really well, exercising and getting 8hrs sleep 😉

Ah I was coming to recommend a coral, but you say you tried orange and it isn't for you.

I use Trinny London lip to cheek in Cha Cha which is a great coral and lifts my very sallow, yellow to green,/grey in winter skin.

It's a cream product and can as the name says be used on both lips and cheeks. I have a weird aversion to lipstick so have rarely worn it as such but did need a balm to go on smoothly.

I also have Freddie from Trinny London which looks like a deep burgundy in the pot but works well too. I have a NARS special edition powder blush in this colour too and its also lovely on.

I'm not adverse to trying a coral, i expect the are lots! Thanks for the suggestions I'll look them up.

I used a plum colour - I am so yellow that I could join the Simpsons! I find Clinique chubby stick in Amp'd up Apple very good.

Also, just started using Nars tinted moisturiser in Norwich, which is for pale sallow skin. It is very good.

That made me laugh @Minimalme
Thanks for the suggestions!

I've been really impressed with Barry M Fresh Face Lip and Cheek tint, it gives a lovely subtle natural flush, very cheap (less than a fiver). I have sallow skin but not the same eye/hair colouring as you, I use the shade Caramel Kisses.

this one is great. I second the suggestion of the Trinny London “Freddie” lip2cheek.

I’m blonde and my skin is REALLY yellow. My trick is to ensure that blushes aren’t too highly pigmented, so I don’t look like a doll - and I use a transparent, blue-based fuchsia colour (like the Dior Backstage Rose, but a dupe because I’m not spending that much…) or even a lightly-applied lavender. If you use a lavender or magenta, thanks to colour theory, depending on the tone, it becomes a more neutral, pinky/rosey/neutral blush as the purple and yellow cancel out each other. I apply blush then a light, sheer bronzer over the top which helps ensure it looks natural and less Dolly-like. (A sheer, slightly sheeny one is great for this.)

*Also, coral and peach go neon Orange on me

Just bumping for any additional suggestions before I buy anything...

The Sculpted by Aimee cream blushes are lovely. I have quite yellow undertones and I wear Dusty Rose. Lovely texture and well priced.

I love Fenty beauty cream blush. I have very yellow toned skin and I use Petal poppin- it looks very bright in the pot but it’s quite sheer and gives a nice glow without being glittery.

Go to the Bobbi Brown counter!

QueenoftheAngles · 26/11/2022 20:06

Go to the Bobbi Brown counter!

There's nothing like that where I live! No shop with a make up counter.

What might ypu ho for? So much choice but have the same issue.

Reluctantadult · 27/11/2022 07:41

@Yoyoyo1 I'll be honest, I will go for whichever ones I can find new in box second hand. I can't get to a make up counter and I don't want to spend that much on something that might not be right.
