Foreo bear question

Happylittlekitty · 20/11/2022 21:11

Hello! I’m looking to buy the Foreo bear atm and wanted to ask a question to anyone that has one please. Does anyone know if you can use it if you have a metal filling and fixed retainers in place? I can’t find much on their website and I’m waiting on a reply from them. Thanks

This is a very good question and unfortunately I don't know the answer.

If they have a Facebook or Instagram page, it might be faster to get an answer by sending them a message on there, as opposed to the standard customer service email address.

I only know you shouldn't use it on the front of your neck (I can't remember why) and I think if you have a peacemaker it's also problematic.

Nolosomi · 20/11/2022 23:07

I have a metal crown & it’s fine.

MrsDeWinter · 21/11/2022 00:15

@Branster you can't use it at the front of your neck as that's where your thyroid glad is. So definitely please only use on the side of the neck

Happylittlekitty · 21/11/2022 14:36

Thanks everyone! If I get a reply I will update but sounds promising if you also have a metal crown. Are you all happy with it, is it a good investment? Also what serum do you use with it? The Foreo is expensive so if there’s a good budget option I’d love to know. Thanks

Thank you @MrsDeWinter - I knew it was something important but couldn't remember what. Definitely not using it in that area.

OP, I order 2 bottles of 250m each of Anagel from Amazon between £4.95- £6.95, so very cheap and lasts for ages.
I've also used it with any gel products I had already available (one was a pot of some rose mask and another was a Collagen Gel).
I do it whilst I rinse with mouthwash too. There was something I read somewhere that it's good to be hydrated as well.
It is very easy and quick to use but you need to use it all the time.

Happylittlekitty · 21/11/2022 16:08

Wow thank you, that’s a bargain! I’ve had my eye on one for a while, providing it’s ok to use with my metal mouth I will get one :)

I use mine with the Anagel as well. Definitely no need to be paying £££ for their own branded stuff!

I've got loads of metal fillings and it is fine with them. I use Elemis products and use the Superfood Cica Calm Hydration Juice which is a gel. Someone posted a review saying you can use it with micro current devices, and you can. Win/win for me.

Happylittlekitty · 21/11/2022 18:01

That’s great thank you. Interesting that a few of you also have metal fillings and use it without issue as I’ve had a reply from Foreo to say no you can’t use it if you have any metal in your mouth but judging by the replies I’ve had here it might be just them covering themselves

I would assume so. Just like the blanket dry clean only labels companies tend to put on almost everything these days.

There are literally millions of people with metal fillings and I can pretty much assure you thousands of them will be using the Foreo bear. I have a metal crown and have never had an issue.

moimichme · 21/11/2022 19:23

I have the mini bear and I've made sure to remove my earrings when using it, after some little funny feeling pings I experienced at first. I may be a particularly over-sensitive person, but if the company says not to use it then I'd tend to believe them. Fillings aren't quite the same as a fixed retainer (which I guess would have more metal in it?).

Happylittlekitty · 21/11/2022 19:29

@moimichme That’s interesting about your earrings. I hadn’t thought about it like that it perhaps more metal yes, it’s two small metal wires but probably still more than a filling at a guess.
@SparklyMistleToes thanks, you also make a really good point.
I really want it, hard to know what to do! I’m hoping someone with fixed retainers will come along and say it’s absolutely fine and il be looking gorgeous in no time :)

With my limited knowledge if chemistry, physics and biology... I think we need to know for certain if all metals have equal conductivity. What type of metal is used for fillings (sone sort of alloy, perhaps different metals) and teeth straighteners.

What would the negative effect be here, if this ellectro current reaches a filling or a teeth straightener?

Also, the device has different settings so maybe some levels are 'safe'.

I think Nu Face works on a similar principle. What are the precautions advised by the Nu Face manufacturer?

And how does Foreo Bear compare with Nu Face in terms of current intensity. For ex., is Foreo level 5 equal to Nu Face level 3? I don't actually know if Nu Face has levels but just as an idea.

I know Foreo has some contraindications related to heart but I can't remember what they were because when reading on this it didn't apply to me so I didn't bother to learn on this. I just told myself not to go below the neck with the device.

It will be interesting to see what the real feedback on these devices will be in 30-40 years time. A bunch of old women suffering from various health issues caused by regular exposure to micro currents? Or a bunch of old women with some magic superpowers? I'll be one of them obviously but I'm hoping to have maintained a nice sharp face outline without too much sagging. My Foreo will, of course, be joining me in the care home. Unless it will be replaced by some other new gizmo.
(Currently obsessed with getting a Lyma, but even with their 20% off I really can't justify buying it).

Happylittlekitty · 21/11/2022 22:12

@Branster I have never heard of the lyma, looks incredible but agree it’s very expensive - we can dream! It’s interesting you mention the nuface, I also don’t know any of the settings on either device but nuface say you can use their device with metal implants, fillings etc so perhaps it is to do with how intense the settings are? There will probably be a robot with a magic age defying hand gizmo thingy by then …. Probably

@Branster @SparklyMistleToes
hello ladies, so I have ordered one! after speaking to Foreo again the issue seems to be more with dental implants than fillings but they were not happy to say for certain, so il see how things go. I looked at the Anagel on Amazon, which one do you both use the ultrasound or cosmetic version? Thank you

OP posts:
Branster · 23/11/2022 19:44

Thank you for the update OP, very interesting.

I just looked and mine is £6.95 for 2 bottles, listed as this on Amazon. I don't think there would be any difference between the two.

Anagel Cosmetic IPL Laser Gel, 250ml x 2

Happylittlekitty · 23/11/2022 20:05

@Branster thank you I will order the same as you :)

Branster · 23/11/2022 20:08

It will last forever! It's a bit annoying when wiping off because it doesn't absorb or evaporate during the treatment but it does the job.

username8888 · 23/11/2022 20:29

I have one but haven't got round to using it yet on a daily basis, but I'm sure braces won't do anything as it purely on the surface of the skin. Not deep massage. I think you'd need an MRI machine for something like that.

moimichme · 23/11/2022 20:43

Hope it works well for you and you enjoy your new high tech gizmo @Happylittlekitty!

Happylittlekitty · 23/11/2022 20:45

@Branster @username8888 thanks both! I’m pretty excited as I have the Foreo luna and ufo and love them but this is a big step up, I think I need to watch some YouTube videos on how to use it correctly

OP posts:
Happylittlekitty · 23/11/2022 20:47

@moimichme Thank you! I shouldn’t be this excited, I need to get a life :)

hello I'm from 2024 and I also have a dental implant, I want to ask you if the foreo bear 2 machine works well with it? I'm afraid of being shocked, thank you
