Perfume recommendations please

I have barely bought any, only ever gifted so recommendations please as I'm going to be asking for some for my birthday.

Chanel No5

Thierry mugler- alien/aura

Hugo boss- deep red

Get down to the shops and get a few testers. There's always something that'll take your fancy. Once you've discovered a type of smell you like you can try perfumes from the same sort of 'family'. All the above are soft and sort of powdery/floral. Alien is quite strong though. I always go Eau de parfums and they tend to last all day.

Have a look on Fragrantica. It'll suggest perfumes based on what you like and it can be very helpful.

One of its suggestions if you fancy Chanel is Coco Mademoiselle, which I think is a much better suggestion than No 5 as mentioned above. No 5 isn't the best in my view - I think it's cloying and unpleasant, I'm a No 19 woman myself.

Princess has a vanilla/sweet vibe. Based on that I'd look at Lancome La Vie est Belle, Prada Candy, Lolita Lempicka and Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle for starters.

I wouldn't buy a fragrance without trying it first, unless you really know what you're doing. I've been into perfume a long time but still make the occasional mistake on blind buys.

My current favourite is Viktor & Rolf 'Flowerbomb' EDP. I also really like Chloé EDP.

Definitely visit a store in person and test some out though.

The best fragrance in my opinion is Creed Aventus for women. It's ruinously expensive compared to all other perfumes but my god it's the nicest thing I've ever smelled. I always get compliments when I wear it, from men and women.

Coco mademoiselle as recommended by PP is also nice.
