I have bought these boots to see me through a formal-ish event next week. I know they're not cutting edge fashion, but they will do for that occasion.

What I want to know is, could I also get away with them as part of a Christmas party outfit? E.g. with a sequin dress? Something above the knee.

And if so, can anyone suggest one?

I'm 40, 5ft 2, and an 8 or 10 depending on shop.

Thanks

I like them. You could definitely wear with a dress.M&S has a great mini sequin skirt at the moment.

linziyouboot · 16/11/2022 22:49

Thanks @Chrispackhamspoodle I'll take a look. I do feel more comfortable in dresses, as skirts emphasis the fact my stomach isn't as flat as it once was.

They are lovely and would look great the way you want to wear them at Xmas

Yep lovely!

They’re nice. Quite plain but in a versatile type of way. I think they would look fine with a sparkly dress - I’ve seen some nice dresses in T.K Maxx at the moment. Although of course they never have your size in the dress you like the best!

I really like those, think they're very elegant. Post covid I couldn't walk in such high heels though.

Morestrangethings · 17/11/2022 06:51

I really like those boots - love the shape and that they are suede look.

They’d look good with just about everything, including above the knee dress and sequenced outfit.

I had a very inelegant stomp around the house in them last night and it remains to be seen whether I can or not

I would definitely wear them with a sparkly dress. Boots with dresses is my favourite look. I'm stuck in the early 2000s though. (I'm 44!) 😂

I went to a party (first one in years) last week in 2 inch heels and fell down coming down some stone steps. The bruise on my derriere is spectacular, I can't believe I used to run for buses in 5 inch stilettos Grin

The boots are fine.

This & Other Stories dress is swoon-worthy.

More sequins. Slightly cheaper.

Barely there. Cheaper.

linziyouboot · 17/11/2022 16:56

Thanks @Aixellency the first two are over way over my budget, and the last one is way over my confidence level!

But I will definitely stick with the ankle boots rather than buy sandals or shoes.

Zara? Lower price point, bit more covered up!

Yes, that's definitely more me. I might order that! Thanks.

I haven't bought anything from there in a long time, and if I remember rightly, their clothes are pretty small made. Is that right?
