All I want in my life is a good quality pair of boots!

But I'm a size 9eee with large legs so apparently this is impossible 😑

Every winter I spend between £50-£60 on a pair of fake leather boots from Evans/Simply Be and they don't last the year. I do admittedly wear boots all winter, but they fall apart so easily!

I'd love a nice pair of leather boots that I can repair and wear for at least a few years but I can't find any in the shops that I know sell my size. I ordered a pair of Duo Boots from Vinted (can't afford to buy them new!) thinking they were wide fitting on the foot as well as the calf. They were so tight I could never wear them.

I have had a pair of fake leather boots from Yours for maybe 5 weeks now, that look nice and fit perfectly but aren't waterproof. There are no obvious rips or tears that I can see but if it's raining outside 5 minutes later my socks are wet.

Please can someone help me?! I just want a nice pair of boots 😭

Me too. I’m considering getting some made I’m so desperate

Fake leather boots are almost always shitty quality and fall apart. What sort of style are you after and what's your max budget?

TheSproutOfWrath · 16/11/2022 16:05

I have Dubarrys but they are ££££££s!
I just got them restitched and resoled for £90 after 7 years. They'll outlast me I expect!

I'd like something like this in black or tan, or just a pair of Chelsea boots in black or tan. Something inoffensive that can go with dresses or jeans. Top end budget would be about £200 because I am really desperate for a pair that will last longer than a year (ideal budget is a lot lower than this but I ca dip into savings if it means I have dry feet!)

I've not heard of that male, the boots look lovely. Do they do extra wide fitting? I can't get away with regular wide feet as my feet are actually obese (I actually got made fun of at school because of my "flipper feet")

Yes, they have extra wide in the Galways and the mens are quite wide.

BoobsOnTheMoon · 16/11/2022 16:16

Ahhhh ok. I'm the boots queen among my friends but tend to go for chonkier ones! My absolute favourite pair are from the Art Company and I swear they're indestructible. But nothing like as sleek as those you've linked.

Have you looked at DMs?

Jones the bootmakers do some size 9s.

Clarks usually serve me well!

Not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. All my Clarks are comfortable and last me years :)

Companies like Solovair / Lanx do unisex styles including a Chelsea boot - so the sizings go higher. The boots linked below go up to a size 13

the dubarrys stop at 38.5 cm on the calf, no good for me and they are the extra fit ones !!
