Zip hack needed!

I can't believe my luck - I've just found the perfect Christmas party dress in a charity shop and it's my size!
There has to be a but, right? There is. It's got a zip down the back and I'm not confident I can do it up/take it off by myself. I've had this before with other dresses - it's got a waistband and I think the thicker material there makes the zip harder to pull. I had to ask someone in the shop to do it up for me 😳
There's got to be a hack for doing this, otherwise single people would never wear dresses with zips up the back. Does anyone have any tips to share?

A zip puller (look on Amazon, I have one that looks like a necklace) and if it is tricky on the waistband, step into the dress, pull up to your waist with it back to front, zip up to just past the waistband, twizzle round, slide your arms in then do up fully

A thick string in the zip pull/a purpose made zip puller.

How about using a shoe lace? Tie it to the zip then pull it up like divers do when putting wet suits on. Then you can remove it.

Zip puller etc sounds like a good idea, but it's one of the slim zips that doesn't have a hole in it.
I'll try zipping up to my waist, that could work. Unfortunately though it is quite fitted and there is not much stretch.

The zip puller things have a hook that will catch onto the zipper, not a problem
