Best quality underwear

bonzaitree · 14/11/2022 20:01

My underwear is falling to bits. I look like an absolute bag lady!

I got the last lot from marks as the quality is usually good, but no more!

Where is good to get long lasting knickers and bras. I am size 12 bottoms but 34F top so need somewhere with massive sizes.

Thanks in advance!!

I am hoping someone comes along with a real surprise answer. I am still happy with M&S, or John Lewis. I buy in store not on line.
@bonzaitree you remember that nothing lasts these days. We all want finer, thinner fabrics to fit closer and not show.
Sloggi for full cotton Briefs, Damart do a good version as well. These are very comfortable.

Windtunnel · 14/11/2022 20:39

Ooh sloggi pants are good. Mine are elastic material not the massive cotton ones.

I've bought an Aubade bra or 2, I'm larger uptop too and not sure they do F cup sadly, might be worth a look.

bonzaitree · 14/11/2022 21:27

Yeah nothing lasts - it's a shame!

I am so sick of throwing away and re buying the same bras and knickers. If they were made properly the first time around I wouldn't have to! Gah!

Prima Donna bras are expensive but absolutely worth it - especially if you have bigger boobs. They are the only ones I buy now and they really last.

DameCelia · 14/11/2022 21:32

But @bonzaitree a bra isn't going to last more than 6 to 9 months anyway. It will have stretched in the band and need replacing no matter what it's made of.
For pants I like Dedoles, very well made but quite sturdy and will show under sheer fabrics. Stripe and Stare pants are lovely, just don't put them in a tumble dryer.

Shirl89 · 15/11/2022 10:40

Anyone any ideas for longline bra please?
Quality all day wear that is, not just entertainment!

Daisy62 · 15/11/2022 11:21

I find that Fantasie bras last for at least a couple of years, often longer, if I have say three or four on rotation. I machine wash them but don’t tumble dry. Same size as you, I prefer Fantasie Ilusion.

savvy7 · 15/11/2022 16:28

Another vote for Fantasie

ISeeTrees · 15/11/2022 18:11

I don't tumble dry any of my knickers, I think it ruins them so quickly (maybe something to do with elastic?) and they fall apart. I'm still searching for decent replacements, testing some from Asda (not great so far, just not as comfortable as I'd like) and some from Primark that I picked up to match some longline bras @Shirl89 and both are v comfortable and washing well so far. The Primark ones were closer to the Loungewear section than underwear, if that helps.

Shirl89 · 15/11/2022 18:31

@ISeeTrees Thanks for the mention of Primark

Mary46 · 15/11/2022 18:39

Hi op Im E cup have found tesco bras lovely. Good straps on them. Fantasie lovely too.

offyoufucketyfuck · 15/11/2022 22:00

I like Freya bras and knickers. M and S is rubbish quality for underwear I find
I also have had luck with H and M

Greyhairwarmheart · 16/11/2022 06:58

Wirarpa pants on Amazon are harder wearing than sloggi.

bonzaitree · 23/11/2022 16:42

I went with the “fantasie” suggestion.

really, really nice supportive bra- thanks for the suggestion!

Rigby and Peller, best bras. Still love M&S for knickers

bonzaitree · 23/11/2022 23:15

I’ll hear that in mind next time I want to cage the wild buffaloes.

My M&S knickers last for ages.

I bought some from ASDA recently and the elastic wasn't elastic around the waist so they lasted a day each as I had to pull them / rip them to get them on.

I'll be sticking to my M&S undies for ever more

RosettaStormer · 23/11/2022 23:41

I find all knickers fall down after wearing them a few times. They bunch around my hips or
just fall down. It’s the same with every brand I try. I have a lot of pairs and they all really need to go in The bin.

elle6 · 23/11/2022 23:47

Victoria's Secret underwear lasts me years and always have amazing offers on!

AdoraBell · 23/11/2022 23:51

Glad you found some OP

I haven’t bought for a couple of years but I like Simone Perele but their stuff is bloody expensive.

bonzaitree · 28/11/2022 08:57

Do they do my size?

OP posts:
bonzaitree · 28/11/2022 08:57

Victoria’s Secret that is.

I’m also rather annoyed at having to buy underwear more frequently. I can understand bras stretching (also large of nork here and need a decent scaffold) but I used to keep bottoms for ages and I’m now replacing every six months, even from M&S.

They seem to wash terribly (40 and never tumble) and fit completely differently after a few washes.
