Glasses & make up tips

Fairly recently got glasses that I wear all the time now.

I'm just finding my eye makeup looks a bit crappy now. I have two problems. One - I can't flippin see to use the makeup. Have good magnification mirror when at home but out and about touch ups - not so handy. Two - I just think my usual eye make up looks too heavy now.

Any ideas? Personal experience, tutorials, recommended videos please.

I'm 54 and my glasses frames are black plastic if that makes any difference.

Thanks!

51 here, also with black frames. I tend to just wave a bit of mascara about but go bold with bright lipstick instead.

I have a small mirror with one normal side mirror and the other super duper magnifying. It lives in my handbag.

To be honest it’s just practice. I had to stop wearing contacts earlier this year due to eye issues and I’m extremely short sighted - I’m -9.50 both eyes (!) so literally can’t see anything at all unless it’s 3ins from my face. Initially I really struggled to do my eye make up but I found getting really, really close to a huge mirror (ie one on top of the fireplace, standing against it) and just learning to trust myself when using eyeliner etc has just “worked”. I gave up trying to see properly and just almost learnt where the line should go and gradually I’ve got better at it. My eyes look very small in my glasses sadly so I find less is more. I blend a dark eyeshadow into the crease and then a lighter one into the corners and then use a liquid liner across the top lash line and lots of black mascara.
